America's militarism stems from its competitive nature and obsession with sports in my opinion.

No it all stems from corporate greed and the desire for power and the lions share of the worlds resources. The US gets it foot soldiers through a system that keeps people poor. The military hovers over these communities like a starving vulture and offers the down trodden what appears to be a bright future... so they sign up and go overseas to get their brains blown out to further advance the crowning glory that is America's imperialism.

I suggest you watch the incredible BBC documentary, "Why We Fight" if you wish to understand how the American populace is manipulated.

The UNITED STATES corporation has been in nearly NON STOP WAR since it was formed. Completely non stop at least back to WWII. Since 1913 they borrow "money" from foreign banksters, then start wars so that they can justify giving the money to their buddies in the Military Industrial complex. All other industries have been outsourced, the UNITED STATES only produces weapons, etc. Big Oil and Big Pharma. Those are the only things you really make money on in a war, so screw everything else. The military hardware gets destroyed, the oil gets burned up, and the drugs get administered, so they are guaranteed future revenue on everything. The "taxes" you pay merely are paid directly to the Fed as interest on this "debt". The govt does not need any tax money, there is plenty to run the govt solely from tariffs, duties, etc. and that is the way it used to run. The "loan" is to feed to their buddies, so they can all make millions, and YOUR future labor pays for it.

Why do they call it "collateral damage" when they kill the enemies civilians? The UNITED STATES posts your future labor as collateral for this "loan" from the Fed. The UNITED STATES owns YOU, your children, and your property lock, stock, and barrel and gets given a "loan" against that. When you kill the other guys' people, you are killing their "collateral" in their "loan" from the SAME foreign banksters. Everyone at the top of the heap is playing the same "game", with the banksters skimming everything. Eventually the banksters will OWN everything. EVERYTHING. It is inevitable unless there is a major change of course for the human race as a whole.

If everyone would just realize the con game that is being perpetrated right in front of your faces, and just stop this swindling game, there would probably be little skirmishes from time to time but no more all out war. If everyone would cooperate in the common good the world would be a better place. If this evil game could be ended it would probably happen.

From the Industrial Revolution until the banksters total takeover in 1933, the US produced more invention and innovation than in the entire rest of history. That is because everyone was FREE and so they were all aspiring to the common good. If that pace of innovation had been kept up, and not derailed into war and limiting all innovation to military, by now we would probably have colonies on the Moon and Mars, and even interstellar travel. Since WWII there has been no innovation, merely refinements of existing innovations. We went from the hot air balloon, to the prop plane, to the jet plane in thirty years, then we just stopped at the jet. The only other thing pursued for flight are rockets, which were also invented back then. All they can think of is BIGGER and FASTER jets or rockets. Why? We went from smoke signals, to telephony, to radio, to video in a very short time, and then have just sort of hung fire right there as well. Why? Because the banksters' only concern is how do they make the maximum profit, and in their twisted evil minds, the maximum profit is from blowing stuff up, then rebuilding it so you can blow it up again. All else is suppressed, denied, subverted, much like Tesla. He was denied because he wanted to transmit wireless electricity, and the banksters didn't know how to put a meter on it. If someone invented any type of fuelless engine, THEY see it as them losing money, and therefore will squash it. Can't let the collateral have energy, food, or medicine unless WE make money on it. We went from steam engine, to internal combustion engine, to electric motor, then stopped there. Even nuclear power is a step backwards. Nuke powered subs and ships have a STEAM ENGIINE, just with the uranium heating up the water. This is not even a step away from the "man make fire" system. We are obviously not using the available power correctly.

Everyone needs to WAKE UP. WE ARE ALL SLAVES ALREADY. There is no way out of the game. The few who try to get out of the game, like Cuba, are simply besieged by the banksters lackeys, and starved into submission. The few who are trying to refuse the game are called the "Axis of Evil", perhaps you've heard of them. Once we get our collateral to destroy all their collateral, they are out of the game. And the same banksters collect from the losers and the winners.

Excellent point in regards to advancements, it is not enthusiasm any more, it is simply profit. If you can't make long term profit out of it, why invest in it. The corporations are taking us to the wrong path indeed, individualism has dropped significantly therefore we always rely on the Government or Corporations. The Government is influenced by Corporations any ways.

thank you for your participation in the discussion,

greed & profit..... and the majority of the individuals being blinded by propaganda & brainwashing....

The majority of the ordinary Americans believes USA is fighting for the good cause, fighting for Peace, and that's why children are kept on being sent to the front of the history long wars & "military conflicts" one of you posted, amazing list by the way, never realized this warring habits goes way back.....

Will there ever be an end to this Peaceloving Warring madness? Or what we will continue to see is countries who dares to step up, and/or these greedy corporates see enough profits in a place will keep on sending their children to it to pay out dividends?

a follow-up article:

Why We Seek War: Cowardly Congress Plays it Safe

America frequently makes wars because a cowardly Congress allows the White House to itself make the decision for war, a law school dean says.

“Congressmen and Congresswomen are almost always political cowards, and they care only about staying in office indefinitely if not forever,” writes Lawrence Velvel, dean of the Massachusetts School of Law at Andover. “They do not wish to cast a decision-making vote on war lest their individual decisions---whichever way they may come down---will cost them the next election.”

There is just something hugely wrong with a "democratic" system in which the elected officials are mostly short-term minded and rely on the financing of private parties to run for the costy election campaigns.
