Am I the only person here who finds this amusing? I mean, seriously- how many adults could hear Obama say "shut of the news networks", then the news
networks quickly shut off the feed-- and NOT find that more than a little hilarious?
Maybe I'm just jaded, and I tend to find most of what's happening in this world humorous in it's own way. Not like, manically laughing at the
horrors of the world- but more like "did you SERIOUSLY think that you were going to be happy kumbaya singing with total freedom and unlimited
resources? Are ya really that dumb? Now that's funny!" funny. Ya know?
on another note, I see that Fox news is usually given a pretty bad rap. Not sure why that is, as I don't watch TV news very often, aside from local
channels for weather; but when I DO watch cable news, I watch Fox.
Why? Because it's entertaining. Not the content- the anchors. They're insane, they say the most random things, have frequent awkward pauses, and are
REALLY REALLY EXCITED about some things, and that my friends, is sometimes the best of improv comedy.
I personally, tune out the content- from all news sources, mainly because of a basic problem. Who the heck are we supposed to believe? As someone
before me stated, all news media has a slant- so who would be more truthful than the other? Yes, I really do think about this stuff, a lot. For
example- swine flu madness. Any given day would find another news report giving an opposing opinion and stated facts to back up opposite claims. What
the heck man! I'm trying to figure out if I should let my kids get this damn shot, and I can't even get a straight answer about real data on it.
So, for me, MSM news is strictly entertainment. I admit, I find Michael Savage HILARIOUS. Rush Limbaugh amuses me daily, right after Glenn Beck makes
me shake my head in amazement. Bill O'Reilly is what I consider a fun evening at home, with lots of popcorn.
But you know what- in every news outlet, there could be a grain of truth. well, there is usually more than a grain, but I had hoped that we, as
rational thinking beings, would be wise enough to do our own research, instead of relying on talking heads to make our minds up for us. Is that so
crazy?
