This is the reason why there are still those who read tabloids.

Batboy = fun
Truth = not so fun

Thank you for reasonable response. I'm sorry if I didn't adequately express myself and the point I was trying to make.

The point I was trying to make was that, as you might have noticed, many people here when faced with someone presenting a different opinion or perspective, unfortunately, ascribe nefarious or secretive purposes and reasons to those positions presented by others—i.e. they're Government agents. Thinking that people defending a certain position can only be explained by them being Government agents is not only unrealistic, but intellectually dishonest.

You can't ignore the most plausible explanations and immediately jump to the conclusion that they are Government agents. People might defend a certain position because they are ignorant about it or misinformed, or they simply have researched the same things you have but reached a different conclusion.

I'm sorry if I didn't make that sufficiently clear.

I tend to doubt there's a significant number of actual agents posting here, but there are plenty with compatible, if not identical, personalities, mindsets, opinions. Consider the very name of this site. There are plenty who are fully supportive of the Almighty God engine of secrecy that runs government (as we know it), whether they realize it or not. And it wouldn't suprise me if there are more of the Spookified persuasion posting here than many or most folks here believe.

I think people starting these threads should "out" those they suspect of being involved in government monitoring of ATS. Then we can have a trial of the suspect, until we are satisfied. probably against the rules but would provide some entertainment.

You're absolutely right. You can't just sit and ignore everything and think that nothing nerfarious has , can or is going on. I just think people need to learn to live a bit more towards the middle and come of their extremes. That goes for both sides IMO

Oh well...I guess ATS has all kinds.

Here here
I think that those who are so quick to name call must have delusions of grandeur to think they are such a threat that 'agents' would be engaged to create 'disinfo'. The funniest thing is that 'disinfo', if it exists, is just as likely to come from those putting forward the extreme theories. What better way to undermine a site eh?

star and agreed why does everything have to be a conspiracy? on an entertainment level it kills the fun if its always a conspiracy cant we just discuss topics without having to BELEIVE its a conspiracy. It leads to paranoia / there after you type conversations rather then any truth or factual conclusions. Lots of tin foil hat ATSERS.

In conclusion I can only say that I KNOW that there are little green reptilians living at the bottom of my garden. They appeared through the Norway spiral wormhole.
Any one who disagrees with me is clearly a paid disinfo agent, a shill, whatever

After more than a year here and on similar sites I have a pretty good feel for the regulars. Teenagers, college kids, older people trapped in delayed adolescence. All angry, hostile, resentful. Often lonely, social misfits - more than a few on the edges of the schizophrenic spectrum. Seeking company, positive reinforcement of any kind.

In an unforgiving outside world no one wants to hear about your customized paranoias, delusions, conspiracy fantasies.

Here you have a whole community that shares you skewed world views. So it's home.

Actual government agents infiltrating? They'd probably laugh at the suggestion.

The Federalists are easy to spot.

Im pretty sure that even if they did post, they are some of the most intellegent agents on the planet, therefore they wouldnt leave "easy to find" clues behind lol!

And my vote is no they don't post on ATS, they are most probably aware of the site, but i really do not think we have members who are from the CIA etc.

You never know what might be happening.

Just in case you missed this thread I figured I would supply a link to it. This thread deals with the Information and Regulatory Czar to Obama calling for cognitive infiltration of conspiracy web sites. This not only comes from this crazy as hell, we're all family here website. It comes from the hypnotic MSM that clearly has done a job on you.

I must say I feel I am quite normal. I guess the funniest or riskiest thing I do is post on ATS, I enjoy meeting people on these boards for the most part, I know their are allot of young kids here, you can always tell because they are the ones that know everything. As far as Government agents posting stuff here, hmm exciting, but doubtful. Lets face it ATS has that X-files allure to it, and allot of people grew up in the x-files media exploit, and their are allot of men women, and kids who like talking about the mysteries of stuff, not to mention allot of people like to critically think, about stuff like the universe, politics, and other things. ATS has a room for everything, for the aliens, ghosts, conspiracies, the news (my favorite) all kindsa stuff. I just marvel at the progress we have made, with information technology, to where I can get my news from the ATS platform, plus hear theories from other ordinary folk like me about black holes aliens, ghosts and other stuff. Sure their are really really weird people here, but Nah government agents don't post in here I do not think, they prob, monitor this place here and there, I am sure the NRA, or whatever org. who enforces the patriot act has software that rakes across the internet searching for key words which perhaps brings focus to ATS, from time to time, but thats prob. about it. Aside from some really strange weirdo's trying to mess it up for the others I like ATS, its my Newspaper..

Sunstein? If you read more deeply into what he says you'll see he has legitimate concerns. A lot of false information and malign propaganda is widely disseminated on the Net, masquerading as News and Education. Terrorist recruiting, racism promotion, phony wonder cures, outrageous political propaganda, falsified reporting, and on and on.

A kid on this site last week noted how when you Google the word "Holocaust" the first 5 pages are filled with Holocaust Denial sites and videos from White Supremacists and Muslim extremists.

I'm sure if you're 10 years old and looking up 9/11 for the first time you'll be barraged with a thousand pages filled with every bizarro conspiracy claim imaginable.

Time for the Internet to take out the trash. Too much disinformation is clogging the system and blocking access to properly researched bonafide information. In the end intelligent people will just consider it a mega-porn store where you don't go shopping.

The religious, political and racial agenda driven have invested inordinate time, money, and resources into spreading their self-serving messages. It's blocking out the honest material.

If you have a medical problem you're more likely to come up with some quack trying to sell you a course of treatment or videos rather than properly researched knowledge.

There is freedom of information. But there is also abuse of the privilege.

So the internet should be cleaned up and be able to provide actual non falsified information for everyone? Who will decide what is factual and what should be dismissed as irrelevant? You my friend are walking on dangerous grounds that have been trod in the not so distant past.

Abuse of what privilege? The privilege to be able to be a critical thinker and run some of my nonsense by some other critical thinkers? Or should critical thinkers be shut up and dismissed so you and yours can get on with your agenda? You have fallen into a very bad place with this line of thinking and I'm not sure anyone will be able to lend you a hand.

You will of course see this as some terrible thing. I see it is a library that decides it doesn't need thousands of volumes of Neo-Nazi propaganda and religious tracts.

I could know you and decide to fabricate all sorts of false information on you, your family, friends. Try to get you fired, kicked uot of school, ruin some relationship?

Is that my right?

I'll probably discontinue discussing this further as I see you don't really get the point.

Is this why you believe we should not be able to have free speech anymore? That someone will decide to fabricate all sorts of things about you? Is this what they are doing to some of our supposedly elected officials?

So they have in turn enlightened you to the fact that if someone can do it to them, they could in turn do it to anyone. Even you. You must ask yourself, do you really care if you know they are false and can be proven false?

Or would you be more inclined, if even the smallest one was remotely true, to get rid of it all and ban such activity. So as to never let it be known again. You and I are protected from such stuff as this by slander laws and what not. Which leads me to think about why they wouldn't address some of this stuff openly.

Your right, I don't get what you are peddling.

None of this disinfo is new. The Romans even had an expression for it - caveat lector reader beware.

I like to draw a comparison with the scene of a woman feinting in the street. She falls to the ground, a small group of people gather round and those nearby turn to look. After a while a policeman arrives, the woman recovers and is helped away. The policeman disperses the crowd with the usual "move along, nothing to see here.

On the conspiracy sites a message is posted, generates some interest and usaually dies from lack of interest pretty quickly. But occasionally there are people screaming "shes dead, shes dead" when you can see shes recovering and there are others grabbing hold of you and trying to distract your attention away to something else. Beware the screamers and distractors and ask yourself if the person asking you to move along really is a policeman. Especially beware of those quoting Obi Wan Kenobi as he was trying to conceal something.

I have often wondered that myself. Even more than just this one site. As if the entire conspiracy/9-11 truth/ anti-nwo/alien/2012 movement is not just one facet of a greater system. I have trouble buying the whole idea that all of society is guided, but I recgonize it is possible if not likely. Why could the conspiracy world not be just as guided? The work of Edward Bernay and Carol Quigley's 75th ch. of Tragedy and hope pretty much show how culture can be created for specific ends. Maybe all the knowledge we think we have is just a tiny piece. Like lets give a little info in a mixture of disinfo to keep um distracted. Let us pat ourselves on the backs for thinking we figured it out, and all those poor sheep are lost in the matrix. Really, though are we not in the matrix too? Whether your lost in american idol, or ATS the powe structure succeeds either way. You not organizing. Your not protesting. Your not preparing to change the status quo. As long as ur learning trivia ur distracted. Does matter if is trivia about paris hilton, or trivia about aliens? The power structure benefits from both. Maybe we just fall into a certain demographic of society that has a certain system designed for it. I don't know just thinkin. Maybe I am just imagining things.

I like the posts where an angry teabagger or fanatic says he is going to start shooting people. I am sure these are agents trying to get the crazys to come to them and join up, then they do a crime togerther, or even just talk about crime, then they bust them. I have seen goverment agents go into a drugless town and sell drugs. Then they bust the buyers. They create the enviroment where crime can occur by doing the actual crime.
