'Obama Girl': Crush on President Faded Due to 'Broken Promises'

The infamous "Obama Girl" whose viral video "Crush on Obama" made her an Internet sensation during the 2008 presidential campaign says she no longer has a passionate crush on President Obama. Known to the world as "Obama Girl," Amber Lee Ettinger said in an interview on Fox News about Obama's first year as president: "Broken promises. People like -- talk is cheap; actions speak louder than words."

Explaining to Fox's Sean Hannity the analogy between her crush on Obama and real life romance, she explained that "even with a relationship, you know, once people - your boyfriend, girlfriend doesn't do what they say they're going to do, you kick them to the curb."

Like most crushes, "Obama Girl" realized that the reality of the man fell short of her fantasy. "I just don't have that big crush like I used to," she said, though conceding she's not given up entirely on her guy, grading him a B minus on a scale of A-F.

During the 2008 presidential campaign, the "Crush on Obama" video -- which was not connected to the candidate or his campaign -- gave a boost to the sexy, youth-oriented allure of Obama. "Obama Girl" became infamous for singing about her crush wearing, alternately, a tight tank top with Obama's face on it, a pink bikini and hot pants with "Obama" printed across the rear. To date, the video on YouTube has over 16 million hits.

Ah truly, is there anything like a story of good love gone badly? The infamous Obama Girl who helped inspire an entire generation of youthful Americans to see the future President as a Popular Icon and Sex Symbol has decidedly rejected her one time infatuation and professed love and admiration for President Obama.

Evidently she feels that he has been a bad boyfriend and failed to keep his promises and perform in the manner he said he would.

She feels it’s only appropriate to kick him to the curb as a result.

Alas if only she knew that not only was it foolish to promote an unaccomplished man for President of the United States entirely based on hipness and sex appeal but it’s not very easy to kick one to the curb once they take up residence in 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue either.

Thanks to a horde of youthful voters utilizing the same type of criteria in making their selection for the highest office in the land and arguably the most powerful office in the world we are now stuck with a pretty face and an empty suit that well, does lie, lies often, and without shame.

I wonder if the President knows Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned and that if just a year in to their tragic love affair she is ready to kick him to the curb, just what she might have to say about him three years from now when the people of the nation do kick him back to the curb on the other side of the White House fence. That side of the White House fence he should have been kept on all along?

A sign of the times and a valuable object lesson here!

Well what do you think, if you dare to say? Are you thinking he will be impeached, or worse?

If we had to judge by the Obama girl's reaction I would say worse than impeached.

Lying to people is a tricky thing. Ultimately the people who were duped by Obama's used car sales pitch are going to be even angrier with him and at him than the people who didn't vote for him and those who were adamanantly opposed to him occupying the White House.

The Democratic Party is likely to be decimated come the midterm elections and with neither republicans or then democrats appreciate having him in the White House the key for democrats in 2012 succeeding is displaying they too have rejected Obama and his platform.

This will make the Carter Administration appear popular before all is said and done.

Obvioulsy what he thinks is right is lying to his constituents, bailing out bankers, exporting jobs and expanding the wars.

That's not exactly what his supporters had in mind.

"Actions speak louder than words"

Even Obama Girl sees and understands that!

This article about Obama Girl "breaking up" with Obama is really more telling than face value; it speaks for the fact that Obama was elected on a bunch of hype, plastic fantastic crap. It was like some kind of frenzy that people were blindly following.

I don't like to say I told you so but really I had a close family member who wouldn't speak to me for quite some time because I dared to question Obama's qualifications when we went out to dinner one night. I haven't rubbed it in one bit though since then; I figure the people who voted for him are suffering enough as it is.

There is no doubt about the fact that rampant peer pressure helped to elect Obama thanks to people like Obama Girl.

For a while it was automatically deemed racist to criticize him as a candidate and as President.

The people who supported him most with that peer pressure realizing the error and the foolishness of their ways is what will lead to a healthy debate again in the country.

No debate is healthy when trying to have one automatically gets you labelled as racist by people using politically correct peer pressure and their own numbers in an attempt to intimidate people.

Hopefully such people will learn through their dissapointment that what makes America work is free speech including the words you don't sometimes want to hear or listen too!

What people using that kind of peer pressure don't understand is nobody wins and everyone looses when we can't have an honest political debate.

After two consecutive years of enraging voter fraud and disenfranchisement out of Bush and his ilk, I admit I was excited by Obama too. For one thing, I was still a democrat and still riding my wave of loathing for those who screwed us the past eight years, that getting excited for a great orator like the handsome young Obama was not difficult.

But unlike Obama girl I woke up shortly after the election, and have regretted voting period ever since. I am officially done voting because this election (it took a while) showed me what I say is not going to be heard, my say in the political field is not needed because there is an agenda to politics and I aint part of it. It did not take me a year!

Oh, and again unlike Obama Girl, I give Obama a D for DUD.

Maybe in a round about way the best thing that could have happened to the country was the worst thing by electing someone whose lies were so over the top that todays youth will remember for generations to come that talk is cheap and not to be so easily seduced by it or to make your decisions purely on emotions.

Anger was at an all time high towards the Bush Cabal and their excesses of Office and the many crimes that occured.

Yet the truth is all Obama has done is to continue on in the same patern and mold while putting time and distance between the crimes of the Bush White House and stonewalling any real investigation into anything Bush did.

Considering that the 20 something crowd has another 50 years or more of voting and political life to them, this hopefully will in fact turn out to be a great lesson for them about politics and politicians that will stick. A hard lesson but a good one nonetheless.

What a cute bumper sticker. Imagine a year ago you would have been taking your life into your own hands practically displaying something like that.

I had read all of Obama's failed attempts at legislation in the Senate and really wondered just what the heck all the political pundits and TV News commentators and average people saw in him after reading them.

I actually feel sorry for Obama girl and a lot of other well intentioned but albeit fools.

They fell prey to a marketing scam and now there is not only not any way for them to get their money back, but their pockets are going to keep on being picked anyway for the next three years by the occupant of Pennsylvania Avenue.

The occupant that want's to increase funding for the wars but freeze spending on the people!

The crazy thing at this rate Bush will end up looking good by comparison!

Thanks for posting.

Sadly in Obama's case most people saw simply what they wanted to see.

They didn't do research on him, they didn't even appreciate that other people were doing research on him and sounding the warnings.

They wanted to sell themselves purely on the illusion of hope and change and that Obama would make life better for them somehow even though in his entire career in politics he had not authored one piece of legislation that was even passed into law that made life any better for anyone.

People see what they want to see as long as their is a way for them to pretend that is what they are seeing.

Its just getting very hard to pretend anymore where Obama is concerned even for the world famous Obama Girl!

Thanks for posting.
