Internet uprising overturns Australian censorship law

arstechnica.com
The state of South Australia has a new election law that went into effect January 6, and its effect was shocking: anonymous political speech on the Internet was simply destroyed.

The law required anyone posting a political comment online during an election period to supply their real name and address or face a fine of up to AUS$1,250. The measure was grossly discriminatory—it applied only to bloggers and commenters, not to online "journals" (newspapers or magazine which are written by Real Journalists).

Would this Law also include Political Comments made on the Internet during an Election Period in Australia made by Foreign Nationals ? Afterall , The Net has Global Access to All Countries that allow their populace the Right of Free Speech . How would they Collect these Fines from them ?

I assume by flagging their passports, so if and when they decide to visit they would be greeted by the boys in blue or the federal police. In any case, would definitely like to see a botnet do its rounds across major forums during election period.

Makes you wonder if he had this politically-correct little speech written before he even tried to gag voters:

"From the feedback we've received through AdelaideNow, the blogging generation believes that the law supported by all MPs and all political parties is unduly restrictive. I have listened. I will immediately after the election move to repeal the law retrospectively... It may be humiliating for me, but that's politics in a democracy and I'll take my lumps."

Damn right !

And the poster above who suggests that as the public PAYS 'politicians' (SPIT ! ) then the public has EVERY right to comment, criticise and FIRE its employees

South Oz, sigh

Someone smart will research that place one day

because there's a lot that needs investigation

The high-profile paedophile, homosexual cabal, for one. How many young men's bodies were found dismembered in plastic bags ? Is that lawyer still living at taxpayer expense in jail and STILL refusing to name his cohorts ?

The utter weirdness that is South Australia !

It's as if the place exists under a Satanic Star !

And now, apparently, it's the new NWO headquarters

Not to mention the world-effecting hijinks occurring in the Gulf,
involving Russia, China, US, UK et all

(would post the link for tectonicbanana.org but after posting it yesterday in the Icke forums, there must be so many people hitting the site that it's exceeded its bandwidth limit ----- IT IS CLAIMED )

Tip: when you have a chance, browse the tectonicbanana.org site

It will eclipse everything you thought you knew about wars for oil, global warming, corporate and governmental complicity (yes, they're all in it together, like a bunch of lawyers carving up their 'opposing clients')

Not an easy site. It expects you to join dots and to be capable of concentration and independent thought

But WOW !

As to South Australia ... scary, in more ways than one

' The coward dies a thousand deaths

The brave man dies but once '

Don't ask me to identity the author of this wisdom

I don't know

But my father used to quote it frequently

Tristar quote:
Then you suddenly 15 years down the track you hear a knock on the door requesting you to step outside and to your amazement you are being questioned about a particular post you had commented on in a site named abovetopsecret. Wouldn't that rock your world ?

NOT IF WE ROCK THEIR WORLD FIRST !

(all the more reason for us to start rockin' )

I am disappointed for this country. They gave up their guns, and now their right to free speech.

One wonders whether this will come to the US. Here we hope not.

Who is making these laws up? Is there any accountability there?

I remember big demonstrations going on in Australia for antiwar stuff...so its not like the country is incapable or unwilling to make a stand...is anyone over there trying to organize a free speech rally?

first video games, now just flat out speech...get on it...organise..

This is a small drop in the bucket, a test case you may say. No, there is no accountability beyond being voted out in the next election, which is really no different to any other country in the world today.

There are groups working to prevent the ISP level Internet Censorship that is being forced upon us here. Although it will do no good as governments do not listen to minorities, well, unless they have a lot of $$$ to "donate".

Video Games: about time I say as most parents don't even bother to check the age-related ratings on games anyway, the slackers!

And as is normal Australia is one of the trial grounds for things that will be seeded into other countries at later dates. Think, the Irish Model of GST as used in Ireland, New Zealand and Australia; Contract Employment as opposed to legislated pay rates and protections; and of course the biggie for the American people.. the Gun Buy Back Scheme.. although here we had to have a false flag operation killing 30 people by a proven "stooge" in order for that to go ahead under legislation.

As an American citizen I can't criticize. We were forced to go along with the myth of 9/11 without question. Our politicians were bribed, our news leaders, our public figures. Those who could not be bribed were threatened.

The people who seek total control now seem like an invasive disease organism. Maybe a society or even a planet could be likened to an individual.

I believe that if these people were to gain complete control it would be better off if the entire planet were destroyed.
