Further more could it be linked to this www.abovetopsecret.com... wild guess but could an asteroid impact cause such an explosion. Please forgive my ignorance on this subject just throwing the idea out there.

Not too sure what the explosion is yet.

I'm checking out SOHO to see if there is any more info.

The bright object is definitely Venus.

The source is currently unexplained.

It's not sunspot 1043 because that is located in the upper hemisphere and the CME appears to be around the equator.


Maybe another new sunspot?

According to SpaceWeather..

a bright double-ringed coronal mass ejection (CME) billowing over the sun's western limb. At present, the source of the blast is unknown.


it is a CME. The source of this CME is what's got them puzzled.Sunspot 1043 is way up higher.
