Thanks for the pics. I wonder what they would do if thousands of people showed up there, dedicated to be let in. Perhaps with cameras and grass roots media. I guess they would have them all hauled away. Why exactly can we not just go check it out? Is it funded with taxpayers money? Do we have a right to know what's in there? What if more than a thousand showed up? Perhaps a hundred thousand? Interesting to ponder.

They've had all of that technology since at least the early 90's when I first started following the Desert Rat (www.ufomind.com). He documented all of the above technology, though the motion sensors were infared and thermal scanning sensors buried in the ground in a spiraling perimeter if I recall.

Generally speaking back then, when the big lookout area was still unclaimed by the Air Force, people rarely got past the first set of sensors, primarily because motorized vehicles are very noticable out there (its quiet!), so traveling on foot was the preferred method of most 'investigators'. Even then, generally they were found by the hired security firm that handles the first checkpoint gates (EG&G I believe is the company).

Getting to anything of substance would require I believe two or three additional checkpoint sections, not getting caught just didn't happen, ever. In the mid and late 90's however, the USAF allocated a much larger radius of land around the base, including the 'lookout ridge' or whatever it was called. Now, its barely possible to get photographic shots from a distance of test craft.

So, save yourself the time, you won't make it very far and will spend at least a night in custody.

so what is the area like surrounding the base

would it be possible or legal to stage some sort of protest there?

if it is just public desert land it would be interesting to get thousands of people out there and just surround the place until they give some tour


im sure they could give a tour without giving away all their secrets or cause any security problems


even if they didnt get a tour im sure it would be a fun/cool experience for the ufo enthusiasts

Don't know about the signs but the animal tracks in the snow are most likely coyote tracks. One legged aliens? i think he's a two-legged alien. People don't even know their own planet yet their looking for aliens. There's more mystery and magic right here than you can ever imagine, explore your own planet first.

It wouldn't surprise me if they have barrier that pops up on the road. Many military bases have them now, though usually they make you travel a slalom of sorts to slow down the vehicle.

Pop up turrets are a pain. You have to toss a hand grenade in them to disable the gun. Oh wait, that is in Half Life 2. ;-)

The base has so much distance between the front gate and the base itself that they can be ready to terminate you with extreme prejudice once you reach the base.

i'll laugh if area51 isnt "the area51" any more, that the air force isnt
developing propulsion systems there anymore and there just keeping up the charade for our benefit, to keep our eyes and minds focused on groomlake

yeah thats is a GREAT idea, i mean them having the legal right to shoot you once you got a couple hundred metres in doesnt mean they will right?
