You did not address Dai at all. He's the one who is said to be intelligence operative of some type. It's not O'Keffe or the other three.

Dai was addressed. He was an operation specialist as an intern in the CIA's irregular warfare fellowship. Student. Hell I had an internship with the CIA in college. I also participated in the undergrad scholarship program. This was 18 years ago but 15k salary and full benefits was a sweet deal. And as a psyche major I had some really interesting experiences as well as the ability to study the paranormal to an extent.

So he was an intern in a fellowship program. The Federal Defense of Democracies Foundation sent him to Israel for 2 weeks. The Foundation says the course includes "lectures by academics, diplomats, military and intelligence officials, and politicians from Israel, Jordan, India, Turkey and the United States." The CIA and Office of Director of National Intelligence have both told Politico that despite Dai's evident connections to the intelligence community, he never officially worked for them.

The simple fact is if you look at this kids life, his schedule.... He didn't have the time to be a trained spook. So much about this kid is public knowledge. His fellowship was for a semester. And it was part time.

He's twenty-four years old. It's possible to be an intelligence officer when you're 24, but there's a term for 24-year-old intelligence officers: "Sergeant." You won't be the "operations officer" of ANYTHING at the age of 24 when you're a college graduate (meaning you've got at most two years in the building)--you'll be doing fairly low-level #. And it at least USED to be possible to be a known expert in the field of assassinations, governmental overthrow and black bag operations at the age of 24 but this man wasn't even alive when the Viet Cong disbanded.

The FDD terrorism fellowship is an ACADEMIC fellowship--you get to learn a little about terrorism, but you're not working any real terrorists. You can't! You don't have a security clearance! The IDD is a think tank that was formed after 9/11, so it's not very old. Their terror fellowship takes you to Tel Aviv for lectures and tours of border security checkpoints so this explains the "trained in Israel" thing.
The DoD Irregular Warfare Program is another academic fellowship, and the same strictures apply.
The Assistant Director of the ICCAE? So far as I can tell it's a real fancy name for the departmental secretary. I found the ICCAE application form; in about five places you will find "return this to Stan Dai." BTW he doesn't do that anymore and I can't find out why. Was he fired? Did he quit? Did they give him a job more in line with his capabilities and he decided being the janitor wasn't fitting for a person of his extreme background? I do not know, but he's no longer there.
So far as I can tell, the ICCAE at Trinity Washington University is kind of a fraternity for people who think being a spook sounds like fun--it "allows students to pursue the major of their choice." There are colleges who offer majors in intelligence, but this isn't one of them--Notre Dame College in Ohio has one, and it features courses like "Strategic Intelligence," "Writing for Intelligence" and "Methods of Research and Analysis." You need 12 credits in a foreign language. And you have to be a nice person to graduate: "Students...who exhibit behavior that is not conducive to ensuring employment in this field will be placed on probation or disenrolled."

Essentially we're talking a guy who has gobs of theoretical training from people who probably know as little about actually sitting rack as he does, no practical experience in the intelligence community and probably no security clearance. The high-styled way he describes what he did, and his status as a conservative minority (at the risk of sounding racist, how do you think the monumentally stupid Michelle Malkin, Star Jones and Thomas Sowell get airtime?) gets him on television. But as far as actually knowing anything about this business? I would be very surprised if he knew anything about practical intelligence work like...oh, the Cycle of Intelligence. (If you go to MI school they introduce the Cycle at the very beginning; it is critical to understanding the business.

Does that make sense to you?

I had a friend whose sister was CIA, she and her sister travelled around the world together exploring civil wars in various countries. She was only 16.The CIA is and was a totally irresponsible organization and should have been outlawed, in fact it would have been if Kennedy had lived.
What I believed happened, these CIA morons, master morons, thought of a super cool plot to discredit O'Keefe and ease the pressure on Acorn and pulled him into this plan that they planned to fail. Here again your taxpayer dollars at work to further the evil empire.

The CIA has an internship for high school seniors during the summer after graduation. But that is as early as they take them. Now your saying the CIA disapproved of the Acorn/Pimp incvident? Ummm. No. The CIA is a right wing organization that has been run by right wingers forever. Okeefe was super popular in the conservative and indy environment after the ACORN bust. And they have him attempt to tap a liberal democrat who is being hounded by conservatives for the Louisiana purchase? Landrieu even opposed the Flanagan kid's father on a nomination. There is no logic to what your saying.

No offense but having had a bit of interaction with the intelligence community, these kids are wannabes. They are playing spooks. They aren't highly trained operatives. If they were they wouldn't have gotten caught in the manner they did. No offense but what they did in order to tap her phones was something that wouldn't have been high tech 20 years ago. The operation was worthless. I live down here and have been in the building. Security is a joke. A real black bagger wouldn't have gotten caught.

Everyone here's the acronym CIA and automaticly jump to the wrong conclusions strictly because of the fog surronding the organization. As far as the CIA being moronskhan, cmon. Seriously? Some of the brightest minds in the country are there. And you don't here about 99% of what the org does. The CIA has saved our lives more times than you can fathom. They may have done some unethical things but morons they aren't. And running an op with these kids, well they didn't do that either.

I am not jumping the gun on this...I am speaking from EXPERIANCE with having worked with and around REAL operatives in 2 different theaters. I have seen what they can do, what they DON'T do, etc...and these guys are NOT operatives or assets. You truly have to understand what an asset does for the CIA. Take everything you seen from Hollywood and flush it. Yeah they use assets to "take people out" but it's safe to say 90% of your assets are secretaries, janitors, businessmen, wives, etc....used to simply feed info, NOT go covert and try to go into a Federal Building during the day WITHOUT proper identification, etc....NO SPOOK is going to enter that building without an ID and verification so when someone does check...it all checks out....not oops..we left it in the truck as these 2 said.

you speak in so many absolutes.

are YOU a CIA operative? were you ever one?

then you can not say for sure what they would or would not do, no matter how "closely" you have "worked with one"

Sure, i get your argument but it still does not disprove he was working for an agency. Do you really think an agency would come out and say "Oh yeah we got that guy to set up O'Keffe and his buddies". Of course not. You are not going to admit he ever worked for you in a serious capacity. As for him being too busy-as a college student, I can fit some crazy stuff in my schedule. If something is important you make the time. Furthermore how do you some of that is not a smokescreen?

As for the ages of CIA agents, as I said before 30 something year old's from Langely don't fit in everywhere. It's ludicrous to think that's all they use.

The most likely of these perpetrators to be CIA is this Dai person, caught a few blocks away with a listening device . If they caught someone a few blocks away it wasn't fortuitous , it was a planned arrest .. not like a unpremeditated situational operation. Plus , with his listening device , he might have got away before they came to stumble upon him . Maybe he was meant to get caught intentionally , to make him look a guilty party . When maybe he was part of the sting arrest operation from the start.

As I have said MANY times over...I have first hand experience working with the CIA. Whoopy...but that DOES allow me a WHOLE DIFFERENT take on this subject than most people. I was under the Special Operations Command while in the US Army, 75th Ranger Reg, 2nd Ranger Battalion...another so what...BUT..the important thing is, when it comes to me speaking about what the CIA "spooks" do, I have first hand knowledge of such training, missions, AND personnel. SOOOOO as much as you hate to accept it, because you want to believe soooo badly this to be true...it simple is BS...I have said it all along. College grads with well to do mommies and daddies, got the silver spoon all their lives, given EVERY opportunity one could ask for, interns, etc....and because of all that they thought they could be super spy, billy bad ass...and well...GOT CAUGHT!!! Again, from my TRAINING, my first hand KNOWLEDGE, and my EXPERIENCE...these are young men who bit off more than they could chew as "journalists" or as political zealots....

p.s. I will say again, that the ONLY CIA angle I will believe is that the CIA set them up to go in and try this stunt, and while they got caught and everyone one figuring it all out or patting themselves on the back for catching them...the REAL spooks did whatever it is they wanted...but I don't think thats even the case....

I agree with that... it sounds like much to silly a way to get caught albeit i have no experience in this world it sounds like a set-up. Either that or they wanted to get caught... why? that is the $64,000 question. To bad we can only speculate.

I watched one of these kids play football on a highschool field in my hometown in louisiana and believe me he is no CIA spook. Just a super rich Kid with Daddy's money falling out of his pocket. An extremely Smart kid too I mean scary kind of smart so i am at a lost to explain what he was doing. He is a friend of my nephew and it looks like he was trying to make a name for himself by hooking up with someone famous. That kind of worries me because he is too smart for that so it is possiable I suppose he was caught up in a CIA ruse...and thats the kind of OP this would of have to been because there is nothing to gain for them from this mess. He is a good kid and I hate to see him go down for something stupid like this but Louisiana is known for our good ole boy network and I am sure the wheels are rolling and the money is fkying as we speak to have it all played out where everyone gets probation or a fine.

So saying the CIA does not make any mistakes.Well most of the time they are spot on.Right on the ball. They are some rare occasions when somethings do go wrong.Of course the CIA has always got continously plans for when things do go wrong so in reallity they don't make many mistakes.Of course on some rare occasions things do crop up and some things cannot be obtained by the usual means. This is a kill-kill soulution. If it cannot be obtained then it must be destroyed. With the pentagon that was the only option left to them in the time window needed to destroy the documents. If the CIA had more time they could have obtained thoses documents in the usual way without attacking the pentagon.
