I'm going to do a post on this theme tomorrow in my Revelation series;
can I just observe-
There does not need to be a statue. If the Beast causes himself to be worshipped, that's "abomination" enough.
Nor does there need to be a physical Temple. "Do you not know that you are the Temple of God, because God's Spirit dwells in you?". So if he sets himself up to be worshipped within the church, that is enough.

yes ultimately i agree with you. sometimes i think too hard.

i wonder if this could be it? sometime in the future, they plan to build a house of worship on top of mount carmel. was that not a holy place to the Lord?

future building site

the 'Holy-of-Holies' is not the rock where Abraham almost sacrificed his son...

the Dome of the Rock, was always meant to be an attraction...not a place that must be worshiped such as the Holy-of-Holies'

The Threashing Floor, where the 'Wheat' is seperated from the Chaff & Tares would be the site where the Temple is to be built & to endure....and to me should be considered the (vortex) 'holy-of-Holies'
place... where the Ark was to be nestled in the Temple

go back to the traveling Exodus accounts to find out the exact mathematical vortex spot of where the Holy-of-Holies would be situated on the permanent Temple Mount Platform...
use those measurements from Exodus and apply those measurement ratios to the Herods' Temple platform----i'm sure that the 'Rock of Abraham' and the Dome-of-the-Rock is not where the Solomons' Temple nor the Herods' Temple 'Holy-of-Holies' would have been situated inside a 'Temple' building....(but be in close proximity)
such as the 'rock' would have been in the inner court, but not in the sanctuary area... the outer court would be the general area of the temple mount platform outside the 'Temple' itself

let's go youse treasure hunters, decipher just where the HoH of the 2nd Temple would have been... the mystical Kaballah & the Exodus descriptions /measurements will precisely locate that spot on the present day temple mount platform.

And the recently Reconstituted Sanhedrin will have the final say on Temple reconstruction, not just Jewish leaders as another post asserted earlier.

I think I've discovered an important mystery to the timeline of Daniel 12.

Daniel 12:6 And one said to the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, How long shall it be to the end of these wonders?

7And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.

8And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things?

the reason Daniel could not understand this vision was because
the man clothed in linen was the antichrist and he had changed
times and laws. a time, times and a half to him is not 1260 days
as Daniel might have thought and as some of us have thought.
I will expand on this at the end.

9And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.

10Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.

11And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.

this has also been puzzling as there now are an extra 30 days
we are told that the antichrist confirms the covenant for one
week. the general view is that this means 7 years. 3.5+3.5 or
1260+1260
where does this extra 30 days fit in? I'll explain later.

12Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days.

this 1335 days is still a mystery to me. my best guess is that in
the latter half of the 7 year period, there will be a time of such
trouble that his people would rather die than face their
judgement. they will feel like judas did and feel hopeless and
many will commit suicide. those who wait patiently on the
mercy of the Lord and endure to the end shall be saved.

13But go thou thy way till the end be: for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of the days

Now to expand on the man who swore to scatter the power of the holy people in a time, times and half a time. I mentioned earlier that this man is the antichrist. He shall think to change times and laws.
This man is the appointed 'image' of the beast which I believe to be the Baha'i movement which is strongly supported by the United Nations. Please read more about it here.

Bahai

The Baha'i calendar began when the Bab declared that a new Manifestation of God would shortly appear. The beginning of the Baha'i Era occurred in 1260 AH and 1844 CE. Their calendar has 19 months, each with 19 days, for a total of 361 days per year. The letters BE stand for "Baha'i Era."

If we used this 361 instead of the biblical 360 to calculate the time, times and half a time, we would come up with this.

361 + 722 + 180.5 = 1263.5

this means that after 1263.5 days shall the 'power' of the holy people be scattered. 1260 days that the witnesses were given the 'power' to prophesy and then they are killed and after 3.5 days, they shall be ressurrected and taken to heaven. Daniel could not understand because this man was talking about 1263.5 days, a time law he didn't know anything about as well as the 3.5 days that the witnesses are dead for.

as for the extra 30 days in the 1290 days

Revelation 8:1 And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour (30)

Daniel 12:11 And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days

During the first half of the tribulation the witnesses prophesy for 1260 days but at 1230 days, is when the abomination of desolation is 'set up'. It is when the daily sacrifice is taken away (they start to overcome the witnesses) and there is silence in heaven during this time.

In Daniel 6:7 there was a 30 day decree that whoever praying to anyone other than the king would be thrown to the lions. In this same circumstance God's witnesses shall ignore the decree in these latter days and continue to acknowledge God instead of the king for the final 30 days after the 1230 days, thus fulfilling the 1260 days.

So from the time the abomination is set up at the beginning of the 30 days plus the latter half of the tribulation period 1260 days, we get 1290 days.
