Has there ever been an ATS expo? Or convention?

I was just wondering. I mean, I know alot of our members want to remain anonymous and so forth. I just thought it might be a neat idea.

The inherent problem in this lies in the fact that if the government ever found out all of us were getting together in one place, there would be a "mysterious" gas line explosion at the center of the conference. In one fel swoop, one of the biggest truth seeking groups on the internet would be completely wiped out, with nobody left to oppose or criticize what is going on in our world. I'd rather stay anonymous and hope that the men in the black Ford Bronco don't come knocking on my door one day.

I wonder how long it would be from initial call of a meet and greet to where the boards are flooded with "ATS in league with CIA rounding up conspiracy theorists into one tent for (enter conspiracy here)"

come to think of it, if there wasnt one started immediately, I would start one, simply for the obvious #1 spot for a day or two. heh

Can't find the threads now but there's been a few, including a big shindig in NYC a few years back.

Have you ever been to a junior-high dance where everyone looks at each other uncomfortably? .... It was more awkward than that.

...ahh yes...

...the appearance of the mysterious ATS Founder, Simon Gray, in person...

...apparently he was then whisked away to complete the filming of the next James Bond movie...or so I've been told...

Do a search on the 5th of November. The Revolution. That was in 2007. It was the largest get together that I know of. It was plagued by logistics. People not showing up when they were supposed to. Drug it out longer than it should have.

Secondly, I was at the first ATS meet. Many since. Always a good time. It's like posting on ATS without the posting lag time. Can be heated at times.

How did it go AshleyD?
Was it as awkward as everyone seems to think?

I mean, come on guys! If the Star Wars people and The Star trek people can get together in shared geekiness, couldnt we?

how quickly people forget the 5th of November.

We had a small launch party back in 07 to celebrate the funding of The Above Network, the announcement of our book, written by Jim Marrs and to let the world know where we were heading.

The party was invite only but there were owners and local staff attending, as well as two members who won a contest and drove 16 hours to attend the gala event.

there are more pics somewhere, with the guests and some other, more "fun" shots of things like the boys getting their make-up done (we shot an interview that was never used) and some late night spilled drinks shots as well. (thanks AD)

You are quite welcome my friend
I figured that it would come up so I decided to just jump at it before anybody else did.

Don't know because I wasn't there.
Wasn't a member at the time. lol

Many were, though. I'm sure you'll be hearing from them in this thread.

If one's close enough by, I'd love to stop in and see some of the folks here.... though I'd make a point not to speak much.

Well, I think it would be a terrific idea to do that again!

Hey, we can do it here in DC ... let's come to them instead of them having to come to us ... that will really confuse 'em.

Seriously though, I wish you guys could put that together.

Edit to add: We should bring flags.

If we are bringing flags, we should bring stars also.

Tin foil hats?

There's no way we are going to get people to wear name tags.

lol, I was going more on the Eddie Izzard flags ...

But, I like where you're going with this ... anytime someone says something we agree with or of relative worth we slap a star on their forehead. Stick a flack in them if they started a topic.
