For the record I have read that if the SCOTUS had sided with the Government argument then if anybody in the press or citizen had written any criticism of the Government that they themselves would be placed in a form of legal jeopardy.

So....no matter what the decision it would have been a form of squashing freedom of speech.

In that light the SCOTUS may have saved free speech with this ruling and placed the burden of defining a corp upon the senate, congress and prez thereby limiting the power of corporations by placing their power into the public spotlight.

Classic catch 22 with the SCOTUS understanding the power grab and stopping it by allowing it.
