If we would reduce humanity to a village of 100 inhabitants, respecting the proportions of all existing nations, this village would be arranged like this:

57 Asians
21 Europeans
14 Americans (North) and South
8 Africans

52 women
48 men

70 non-whites
30 Whites

70 non-Christians
30 Christians

89 heterosexuals
11 homosexuals

6 people would own 59% of the total world wealth and all 6
People would come from the U.S.

80 would have no adequate living conditions
70 would be illiterate
50 would be malnourished
1 would die
2 would be born
1 would have a Computer
1 would have an academic degree

If you look at the world from this perspective, it should clear to everyone that the need for solidarity, understanding, acceptance and education
is necessary.

If you're awoke healthy this morning, then you're
happier than 1 million people, which will not live to see the next week.
If you've never seen a war, never felt
the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of being tortured or never felt hunger, then you are happier than 500 million people in the world.
If you can go to church without the fear that you will be arrested or killed
then you're happier than 3 billion people in the world.
If there is food in your refrigerator, you are dressed, have a
Roof over your head and a bed to lie down on then you are richer than 75% of the inhabitants of this world.
If you have a bank account, some money in your wallet or
some coins in a small box, you belong to the 8% of the wealthy people in this world. If you
the message reads, You have been doubly blessed

- Because:

You do not belong to the 2 billion people who can not read.
And ... You have a Computer!

Work - as you would not need money
Love - as if no one ever hurt you
Dance - as if nobody would watch
Sing - as no one would listen.

Great advice and beautifully put! This should be mandatory reading but the best I can do is give you a star and flag. Well deserved.

I think thats one of the things life has taught me, no matter how bad YOU feel or what situation you find yourself in, there is always someone in a worse position.

Great thread by the way, have been thinking about this and the inequalities that exist on the planet.

It's a shame !

I do have to ask why. Why the first list of people called by region race or skin color ?

Aren't we all human. No matter what box asigned to you.
