The chairman of the leading climate change watchdog was informed that claims about melting Himalayan glaciers were false before the Copenhagen summit, The Times has learnt.

Rajendra Pachauri was told that the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change assessment that the glaciers would disappear by 2035 was wrong, but he waited two months to correct it. He failed to act despite learning that the claim had been refuted by several leading glaciologists.

The IPCC’s report underpinned the proposals at Copenhagen for drastic cuts in global emissions.

Dr Pachauri, who played a leading role at the summit, corrected the error last week after coming under media pressure. He told The Times on January 22 that he had only known about the error for a few days. He said: “I became aware of this when it was reported in the media about ten days ago. Before that, it was really not made known. Nobody brought it to my attention. There were statements, but we never looked at this 2035 number.”

Yet more lies come out about the false claims of the global warming worshipers. The greatest scam in history continues to blow itself up.

Politicians influence scientists, because that's where they get their funding. Politicians are influenced by corporations, because that's where they get most of their campaign contributions.

What do you expect? The truth?

Yeah, and there's nothing bad about people working together to sell you things you don't need that are made by child labor in China. Nothing wrong with good old fashioned soulless corporate greed. It's a good thing.

Go back to bed America.

As for the topic of the OP yes Climate Change has been hyped and lies have been told but that doesn't mean we shouldn't start being nice to planet Earth. We just need to keep the Elite from getting richer in the process of being kind to the environment.

Surprisingly the Sierra Club and many other environmental groups are Corporations.

Most large environmental groups are business organizations they take in money and sell products.

They have a CEO and board of directors.

They have trade marks.

many are incorporated under state or federal laws.

Excellent point....

Great example of an "evil" corporation if ever there was one....

When the leftist film maker Michael Moore used his publisher's plane on a recent book tour, for example, critics lambasted him for enjoying the corporate high life. The Hollywood activist Laurie David, the wife of Larry David of ''Curb Your Enthusiasm,'' was labeled a ''Gulfstream liberal'' in an article in the latest issue of The Atlantic Monthly for condemning S.U.V. owners while flying around in private planes.

Arianna Huffington, a financial backer of anti-S.U.V. commercials, has also borne the brunt of criticism for traveling in a jet; and a supermarket magnate, Ron Burkle, is perhaps as well known for his eight-bedroom 767 as he is for the more than $1.5 million that he has given to the Democratic Party since 2000.
