It is still about the assumption the symbols are meant to represent a sound. The reason Rosslyn is a mystery unsolved is because it can be interpreted in so many ways, although the musical one is very unique and fresh compared to the usual templar and mason symbolism thought. But in all honesty.... If you put 5 people in a room with a code big chance they all come out with a different interpretation.
There are a few things I wrote down when thinking about it. One was if the key was still relevant to the lock. Somewhere in the long history of Rosslyn this hidden space could have been opened up to retrieve whatever was in it already, and/or the lock could have been destroyed.
Second was what it should be hiding. It is awesome to assume it is about the Grail or the Ark but the word treasure is a subjective term and what could be a treasure of importance to whoever hid it might not have hold any important meaning to the people now. It would still add some details about personal information about the history of Rosslyn but never get your hopes up I'd say... The crypt itself can hold treasures but also mainly bones and a small space can hold as much treasure as a big hidden crypt. Maybe it's just not that obvious as we think (as the crypt is the first thing that comes to mind by most and if you think about it, the crypt is a perfect 'cover-up' to hide what it should actually open).
Short said the search would be endless. If such a key and lock ever existed as suggested in this topic... Where to start? Could the music itself hold any clue to whatever it opens or wherever we should start looking? Does the music itself (like the notes for example) hold any additional meaning when it comes to symbols? After 18 years of playing music, worth a shot for me personally to check.
Simple minded it can also just be a way to make a personal piece of music written by a templar or Sinclair eternal, written in stone. Not to mention the music itself IS a treasure in my honest opinion, and possibly also for the original composer if it was intended to be music.
Some good thoughts and ideas my friend.
