Just came across this story and found it interesting thought i would share it with the guys and gals at ATS and see what they come up with.

Turns out all the intricate carvings and symbols in the now infamous Rosslyn Chapel have a hidden encoded message. When decoded they play a hidden sound. here is a the link to the article.

soundhealingresource.blogspot.com...

The many carvings around the Rosslyn Chapel just outside of Edinburgh, Scotland intrigued me when I visited the Chapel in 2000. Now it seems that they are not only beautiful but also have a hidden message of sound. A father and son became fascinated by the symbols carved into the chapel's arches and say they have deciphered a musical score encrypted in them. "The music has been frozen in time by symbolism," Mitchell said on his Web site external link, which details the 27-year project to crack the chapel's code. The Mitchell's unlocked a beautiful hidden melody contained within the intricate carvings by connecting them to cymatic patterns, sometimes referred to as Chladni patterns. The Mitchell's have called the piece The Rosslyn Motet and added words from a contemporary hymn to complete it.

here is a youtube link better explaining the discovery and how impressive it is.

apparently the symbols are an actual geometric formation of the sound "litterally"

Huh.
Pretty...nay...veryinteresting.
But...what does it all mean?
And what of the other sculptures and statues?
Have they another meaning as well?

Well thats the million dollar question. And who had the information back then to encode the harmonics into actual pictographic representations of their actual shape. It would seem that builders of the Chapel were privy to information we naturally assumed they didnt have. What else did they know???

I guess I'm not as curious as what the builders knew, as I am to what their actual intent was.
Either way, it's quite a fascinating find.
It causes me to wonder, what other structures out there, possibly lost to antiquity, have messages similarly encoded into themselves.
This could be an incredible breakthrough, or it could be nothing more than fanciful imagination.
Regardless of which, I'm intrigued.

well i dont think anybody will know what they intended when they incorporated the symbols into the architecture unless they left a book explaining it all. but i would guess it was one of 2 things random coincidence or intentional code. if its random that's a pretty impressive display of synchronicity but if it was intentional that means they left them there for future generations to discover and decode.

considering that the chapel was rumored to have been built by the templar knights who supposedly later infiltrated or created the masons. it wouldnt be a stretch to assume they had with them esoteric and scientific knowledge that would have enabled them to create the chapel with all its secrets encoded.

or it could just be random

the wonder is in the question....its the question that drives us

hmm interesting idea and in fact it would seem to make sense that you would hide the key in plain sight. kind of like putting a key under the mat outside your house.

hmm i wonder if the guy that discovered this code already tried it?

i doubt they tried it, could it be worth trying to contact them and suggest it?
thats how i would view something like this though, if you forgot the key there was a hidden one to get in.
and of course you wouldent KNOW it was there unless you had prior knowledge.
these 2 just recognized the similarities between the shapes and the cymatic patterns so rather than think of it as a key they have just seen it as a hidden tune since they werent looking for any hidden entrances.
and hidden entrances cant completely be ruled out cos guess what, the building designs were lost long ago.

and sound can also be applied to move things, theres been plenty of threads here on ATS discussing all the different applications,
maybe the chapel is built in such a way that amplifies the echoes of the chords/frequencies to such a degree that something interesting happens or is revealed.....

thats what i would like to try anyway.

lol yeah im not too sure how to drop the subject on him. but then again if he went in there looking for a cryptic code and found it surely that would mean he has an open mind to the possibility that it was put there for a reason?

hmmm....maybe if we contact him first just expressing curiousness as to how he came across the Chladni patterns, then judging by his answer im sure we will have some idea of his motives.

right so ive dropped him a message on his youtube account and here is the copypasta of said message.

"hey there, first of all i want to say well done on an excellent find my friend.
but im interested in how you first came across the hidden patterns, did you go there looking for them or did they just jump out at you from the blue?"

the very second i get a response i shall notify and post the reply here.
also ill inform him of our discussion here and invite him along to participate if he wants.

Yes, a sound activated 'lock'.

It makes sense. 'Key' is the key of the music or sound, and also to open a lock.

Could there be a secret chamber or alcove that is opened by playing the code key?

It's an interesting concept.

Codes and encoding were very much more popular in centuries gone by than they are today.

Everyone who was anyone used to encrypt and code protect personal or private writings and so on.

It was a case of having to in those days, or run the risk of being burnt for heresy or treason or whatever trivial infringement of the crown or churches authority / dogma.

This could very well be important.

Nice find OP, thanks.

yes apparently there's a sealed crypt underneath it and no one knows where the original entrance is located, so as you could imagine its now subject to much speculation amongst people claiming that the crypt was a front for a more extensive underground labyrinthine area and all kindsa other theories but who really knows.

speaking of crop circles dont mean to go off topic but did you notice how quickly the shape changes when the pitch changes its almost instant. and have you guys seem " supposed" real live footage of a crop circle being made by a ball of light its pretty instant. might be plucking at straws but wonder if you could create crop circles with sound?
