My personal understanding of an intelligent species is one that uses objective and logical thinking while maintaining a careful distance from the
subjective. An intelligence striving to educate itself to the full understanding of creation not in religious terms but in terms that has everything
to do with the origin of why the material that makes up everything is existent in the first place and also where did it come from, where it is going
is the real deal.
A true intelligence in my mind would want to know how it came to be existent and what its purpose for being existent was and would never wish to use
its brain power to subdue or exploit its environment but would wish to live with it because only the short term thinkers exploit and short term =
lesser thinkers in my view.
We are not there yet because we as a species are happy to squirm around in our own waste. Landfills and pollution are grim testament to this. A high
intelligence could not contend with living smeared in its own waste like we do as out of sight is not out of mind to a true intelligence – in my
view.
My vision of a true intelligent species would be melded to altruism and would probably have aspirations that put aside what it is that distracts us
here and now and would struggle instead with trying to determine where we as a species fitted into this cosmic jigsaw in terms of past present and
future, materially and spiritually.
I could go on forever in this vein but I think the spiritual is as real as the physical and just because we cannot touch it with our nerves or see it
with our eyes does not mean it is not as real as a thorn or a gecko.
A true intelligence would be as comfortable with the physical as it would be with the ethereal because knowledge is true power, and thus perhaps
education in the “real” sense might be the path to true intellectual and spiritual enlightenment. When one can slip between the two realms of
spirit and material by willing it then I think that may be a true evolutionary step that involves the mind rather than the body and could therefore be
the real star/trans-dimensional gates.
To use these unseen realms one would need to be as familiar with the concept as a mechanic is familiar with an engine or an artist is familiar with
his brush and the body would need to be as willing as the mind I would surmise because one may go without the other but could it exist permanently
without the other?
That would take not only intelligence but education to this end. At least many of us are on the right path even if this path stretches thousands of
years into the future – at least we are on it.
I rambled I know - sorry but my thoughts are often clearer than what can be transcribed via my laptop
