Mechanical waves, the waves that move through air, water, and solid matter transfer energy from one molecule to the next.
Space (between the planets and stars) is not quite empty but pretty close to it. True "space" does not have mass and it is not warped by gravity.
Space does not flow. Mass bends space. That bending results in the force we call gravity. Gravity is not propagated in waves. Einstein predicts that
waves of gravity can exist but they are not an intrinsic property and as yet they have not been detected.
The solar wind flows from the sun. In some ways it is similar to air but in other ways it it quite different. It is so thin that compared to air it
hardly exists. It is also possesses magnetic fields which cause it to behave in a manner very unlike air.
Electromagnetic energy does travel in waves but these waves are very unlike mechanical waves. These waves do not require a medium to travel through.
They a self propagating, propelling themselves. These are radio waves. These are light waves.
They are all part of the universe but they are all of very different natures.
