My god are you out of your mind? First off there is an enormous difference between Socialism and Communism. Yes, the UK is more Socialist than the United States but honestly, we're actually more Capitalist now than we were in the 1950s. A lot of Britons actually want to go back to more government control, especially over certain sectors of the economy such as railroads.

We have a lower unemployment rate than the United States! We stand, at 7.8% unemployment as of January 20th. The United States has a 9.7% unemployment rate as of December (your January numbers come out Friday.)

According to your own government we in the UK also have a much lower immigration rate than the United States as well. We also have a longer life expectancy and we spend more on education as a percentage of our GDP.

BBC News is the largest news agency on the planet, it has operations in almost every country and generates more news stories per day than anyone else. It is also formally independent of government being authorized by Royal Charter. In fact the BBC frequently gets in hot water with the government for treating conspiracy theorists quite well, both in news and fiction. This past summer Torchwood (a spin-off series of Doctor Who) was slammed by the government for fueling anti-government conspiracy. The BBC takes flack from all sides of the political spectrum and takes pride in this. In the charter of corporation it states that the BBC is to be free of influence from both commercial and governmental control, being a voice for the people (not just of the UK but all of their global audience) and answerable only to that audience in the end.

Please sir, do not slander the United Kingdom with lies! The statistics speak for themselves.

Edit: A note about the European Union: The United Kingdom is not a client state of the EU we are full members in good standing. We have been since 1973. We keep the Pound Sterling because it is still advantageous economically over the Euro. London remains the largest city in the EU and our influence over the European Union is quite strong. If the European Union is the "beast of revelation" as you say then I guess that would make us the eye of the beast, not just a minor client state.

Beck is pretty accurate and he connects the dots in a logical manner.

However his emotional presentation undermines the logic presented, and it undermines the story. It's hard to accept an emotional plea of connect the dots.

We are like slowly boiled frogs being told there's an explosion happening. Yes things are going the wrong way, and political speakers are digging us a deeper hole as usual. But it's a relatively slow change.

It is an opinion show cast as a NEWS program - plain and simple - it is a propaganda mouthpiece of the republicans party and portraying setting someone on fire is just an insane act and not fit for a comedy show - which by the way if a comedian did that about a republican the so called republican opinionists would be screaming mad.

I firnly believe that all sides need to be heard in order for a republic/democracy to survive - however - Beck and FOX does not adhere to that philosophy and think that stating out right lies is good news.

Also, Ratings do not equal quality journalism. Fox having the highest ratings speaks more towards the standard of the viewer than it does the quality of the Fox news programming.

Glenn Beck (a self-described Libertarian) is merely helping to wake people up to what's going on. He uses common sense and logic backed up by facts to discredit the left AND right's political agendas. Yes, he goes after BOTH parties, but he mainly focuses on the left because right now, that's who's currently running the show.

I agree with the OP that Beck should be required viewing by ALL Americans who care about what is happening to this country. He is correctly pointing out that our leaders have put us on an unsustainable path of spending with deficits so big they can never be repaid. And we are now China's lapdog because they have loaned us huge sums of money.

Do you have any idea how much money $12.3 trillion is (National debt)? Imagine a huge warehouse bigger than a football field, roughly 70-80 feet high, with every square inch of space stacked from floor to ceiling with $100 bills. That's how much debt we are in. Our economy is a house of cards and all we hear out of Washington are plans for MORE spending! It's delusional. It's so unbelievable what is happening that our leaders are either completely incompetent, or worse, they know the damage they are doing but are doing it anyway.

As I write this, the DOW is down 200 for today and almost below 10,000.

Beck is good for all Americans. People are waking up and saying enough is enough! That's why we are seeing what we are seeing in VA, NJ, MA, etc. We can no longer afford to just sit idly by and let the politicians run us into the ground. That's why voters are energized like never before. The stakes are too high. We need to get out of debt and you don't do that by running up your credit card bills. It's common sense people!

The latest refugee from CNN is Erica Hill who went to CBS.
