I think it means nothing, because the world trade center towers were iconic, with millions of people familiar with them.
Why so one burning?
We all like to destroy things when we are younger and some still enjoy to, while most of us like to watch a building being imploded, I don’t know the physiological lingo and what not’s, but I say human nature.

So he picked something he’s familiar with, and something millions of people are familiar with. If I was gonna do a painting and market it, I would use some shed on my block to depict , I would go with something we all can relate to. That just my first thoughts, and 7 second look at the image.
So I’m gonna go with its just coincidence.

Agreed

Don't forget about this one

Information: This is Dream Theater's third live release, and again it is a masterpiece of live performance. The original copy released on September 11th depicted the twin towers burning, but later these versions recalled and a new version with changed cover art went out on October 16. This CD is the counterpart to the DVD Metropolis 2000: Scenes From New York.

Since I love reading fantasy novels, I'll take a stab at this one.

Someone has created a window that looks into a different space/time. The girl could be the owner of the window but based on the way she is dressed( as a sex toy) I'd say that she is the property of the one who also owns the window.

IMHO, when I look at it I think of the "Whore of Babylon" that is mentioned in the bible.

Revelation 17:4 And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:
17:5 And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.

A beuatiful women is desired by the whole world.

The whole world is represented by the world trade center. It seems to be
ready avaiable to her just outside her window, or never far from view.
The red drenches the world as it desires her.

I thought the same thing the instant I saw it.

"Therefore her plagues will come in one day-death and mourning and famine. And she will be utterly burned with fire, for strong is the Lord God who judges her. The kings of the earth who committed fornication and lived luxuriously with her will weep and lament for her, when they see the smoke of her burning, standing at a distance for fear of her torment, saying, “Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! For in one hour your judgment has come.” (Rev. 18:8-10+)"

There is a lot to be said for the power of the creative artistic mind, some say that some artists have the ability to tap in to super natural powers without actually knowing it, that goes for painters, singers and song writers, and so on. You could say its simply coincidence but i think there is a lot more to it than that. I think it probably has something to do with the creative side of the brain that most of us either choose not to use, or we are programmed not to use it due to things like computer games, the internet, and TV etc. very interesting picture though. Nice girl to.

This is what Philip Jose Farmer says it means.

EAHNAH'S WINDOW

Eahnah-called witch by some, master scientist by others-has perfected a device that she calls a "window." It permits her to stay safe in A Fwa Nes while viewing a limited portion of Earth. The "window" is near the weak place in the space-time fabric, the opening through which Mlenfee entered Earth's universe and ventured into Manhattan. Eahnah has been called to help rid the city of the Wargi, and she is just now destroying, by mental means, a major tower whose present occupants, all Wargi monsters, will soon be dead. Unfortunately, and ironically, all the heat released will cause a new Ice Age-within a few years, not millennia.

So what is a Fwa Nes?

A fable storybook to live within?

Neither a planet nor a Universe, A Fwa Nes is an exploded "place". Its threatened survivors are fighting to regrow a new and much larger "place" from the fragments that remain. Their heroic challenges appear inside.

I think this is a hoax. Someone could have altered the original photo of the painting to place the little white streak on the Twin Tower necessary to make it look like its on fire. It was I believe it was digitally added after the fact.

This is a simple digital trick with no real effort to hoax at all. A lightning strike mark was placed after the painting was painted. The original merely showed the Manhattan skyline and the Twin Towers would have been in that skyline. It is a small area that has been altered but doing so would then give the impression that the Tower is depicted on fire and melting as most remember on TV that fateful day and as captured in any number of videos. Because the painting was done in 1997 the digital alteration raises intrigue and mystery where none exists.

Anyway, its just a thought.

This is what Philip Jose Farmer says it means.

No that's not it.

It means "be my valentine and I'll climb your burning hot tower of love".

It has no meaning.

Art is a conceptual desire for those lacking imagination. Those that render themselves 'artistic' have less desire than those that think.

Translation: people paint to release, those that interpret really need to find a release.
