Is china on the decline?

I was speaking to a friend, another ATSer, and he was talking about china. He mentioned that because of china's preference for having male children, most parents would abort all of their female babies until they got a male, then have that child. He said that because of this, they now have approximately 300 million males that cannot find a wife. Coupled with the ban in china of 1 child per family, could this lead to china's collapse?

Yes. In a couple of hundred years.

There might be a few dozen million more men than women but there are around a half a billion women in the country.. and at one/two kids each..

I would be totally devastated and frustrated personally.....no women
