I watched this one last week and thought it was really good.

Another good one: Re-Animator .

Based on an H.P. Lovecraft short story.

Read the story before you watch the movie.

A film perhaps better appreciated if you read the book but none the less:

Clan of The Cave Bear

Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas

Full Metal Jacket

The Last Temptation of Christ

And 1941

Those are a few that some may or may not have thought about in awhile.

Anyone here remember a movie called Rawhead Rex?

also, Burial Ground, Bruiser (excellent movie), Zombi, Taxi Driver (as someone before mentioned, very good film), my all time favorite is and always will be Krull ("fame, it's an empty purse; eat it, go hungry; count it, go broke; seek it and go mad")

My list is:

Wolfen

Forbidden Planet - made in 1956 with special effects that rival today's best!!!

The Hidden

Altered States

Nosferatu

You Tube actually has a silent version of Frankenstein made in 1910 and the monster is scary! I had no idea there were movies that old. It was made and produced by the Edison Company! There have been many takes on Frankenstein but in the book the monster speaks, tries to reason with the Doctor, then ends up killing everyone in his family one by one.

Short Eyes

Haven't seen this one in years, but it's a seriously underrated and often overlooked film that's definitely worth a watch.

And while I'm rambling about overlooked movies from the 70's...

The Panic in Needle Park

This was Al Pacino's first movie. If you like Trainspotting and Requiem for a Dream, you'll dig this one.
