We all know that those dirty sneaky Republican’s speak with special code words to let their racist followers onto their REAL agenda. We know words like “socialist, communist, liberal, progressive and community organizer” are all Republican code words for “black”. Now a group of free thinkers has put together a list of Republican code words so we can all follow along.

I found this crazy list on a liberal website. Some of the definitions are just plain silly, some are offensive and surprisingly, many are dead on.

Enjoy.

Those are absolutely great. And true unfortunately. America is in war of words and we lost. Look at how many words and phrases they have twisted into newly understood meanings. 8 years of FOX news and Bush now look where we are. I would add that the Democrats have not nearly been so successful as the Republicans in this area but they are trying to catch up. 3 more years and who knows? Perhaps they will catch up.

Orwell tried to warn us. Doublespeak is the new norm.

There are a few good ones that are dead on, but I didn't count more than 5. The rest are just stupid.
Also, imagine the the kind of crap the republicans would get if they made a code word list that the dems have. It's all stupid. Both sides.

One VERY big one missing.

Where is the word PROGRESSIVE.

I know what Beck would call a progressive!

I see a Conspiracy in that not being in there.

I guess they DID NOT want to talk about THAT word.

What is the progressive movement? I keep asking and no one seems to want to put down on paper what it means.

I will ask again, what is this progressive agenda. What is your platform? What are your intentions?

I guess you need a dictionary or reading glasses. You only have to go as far as "Affirmative Action" on the list to see it is not some liberal hit piece on the right. It seems to encapsulate the Washington elite pretty nicely as I know no 'progressive' that would brag about advocating racism against their own people. That is what Rush and Beck would call it and there it is on the list. So settle down and get a dictionary or use google if you need to know what a word means so badly. You obviously want some biased political answer or a lefty joke to swing at. All I see is a post whining that after not bothering to read the list fully, it still did not speak to your sensibilities. Try clicking a different thread. I am sure a new birth certificate thread is just waiting around the corner for ya.

The Funniest thing about YOUR comment, is actually YOUR signature.

Before you decide to correct my grammar or try to correct me on what a word means, decide if you are willing to debate the English language with me or not. READY TO GO, ANYTIME!

I am just asking the meaning of a word. What is wrong with that?

Really, I am interested in finding out what the TRUE agenda is of the progressive movement.

Really, since your signature states "READY TO GO, ANYTIME!"

What is wrong with NOW! Come on, give me the breakdown on the label progressive-thanks whaaa-every once in awhile I feel the need to label and box. Especially when people try to hide their TRUE intentions.

Kind of irks me when pseudo-intellectuals ATTEMPT to obfuscate and derail.

I find it amazing this was created by a liberal and they left out the code word.

Progressive. Come on, when a Republican says Progressive, it must be code word for something. What is it?

There is a reason I did not comment on the title, or the title of the link. I actually read that list. I stopped judging a book by it's cover the first time I opened one. You should try that. Apparently you read my signature wrong. I never offered to defend some other person's choice of words.

I wonder if it irks me as much as when pseudo-intellectuals do nothing but insult and derail and attempt little else.

I find it amazing this was created by a liberal and they left out the code word.

Created by a liberal? Where did you get that? Oh that is right, you did not read anything other than the title. Let me help.
Resources Frank Luntz is the principal architect of Republican code language. He has publicly praised the idea of Newspeak.

You did not read a damn thing.

Progressive. Come on, when a Republican says Progressive, it must be code word for something. What is it?

You tell me. It seems you have nothing to say so far anyway. Perhaps this will offer an opportunity?

Not sure how this got edited out of the last one but cool. Please make me laugh.

I am just asking the meaning of a word. What is wrong with that?

I don't get it. Where is the funny part?

Really, I am interested in finding out what the TRUE agenda is of the progressive movement.

If you were really interested, you would have read more than the title in the OP.

From the actual list -

Much of political discourse is conducted in a code designed to express a particular point of view to supporters, while being able to deny that implication to the rest of society. This is the definition of Orwellian Newspeak, as described in the novel 1984. The key code words in the novel were

There is no mention of right and left. The OP is baiting.

C'mon End, you know that when a liberal hears a Republican say the word "Progressive", they know in thier heart the Republican REALLY means "black".

Because as every liberal knows, Republican's ONLY hate Obama because he's black.

It has nothing at all to do with him bankrupting this country, taking away our freedoms or any of that other stuff.

My mistake, I mistook what the OP had said to mean it was created by a liberal.

A I did read the OP, here is the OP sentence that mislead me.

I found this crazy list on a liberal website. Some of the definitions are just plain silly, some are offensive and surprisingly, many are dead on.

Now that I have followed the link and then to it leading to the link you provided.

Oooops, my mistake.

Thanks, now that I have followed the link, it seems this WAS created by a liberal.

There is no link or quotes used on the site with the list, one must INFER that it was created there, NO?

Obfuscation and derail by attack. Good work.

Wow, they provide a link to someone they STATE creates code words. Excellent point, NOT!

Please provide link or proof this list comes from anyone other then a rabid Obama backer.

Please prove me wrong, I would really love it.

Exactly, a Republican put this together. Yeah, right!

Repub this Dem that. Both parties want control and taxes for different purposes. But it still ends up in the same location. Tyranny!

Whatever, they are getting to be quite scared lately, when there agenda is falling apart.

Ellie Light anyone?

Actually, I was expecting to see Newt Gingrich's 1996 GOPAC memo

It's a serious list. Words to use when describing oneself or fellow Republicans, and words to use when describing opponents. Seems to have worked.

Interesting. "Activist" back then was positive .... I guess prior to "activist judges". Word usage certainly does change. And "greed" applied to the opponent.

LOL. You follow the links and see that it is NOT a liberal created list and then demand I prove the same? Stop drooling on your chinstrap and sit up like a big boy for a minute here. You WANT it to be liberal. Your entire post is about how it is linked to Repubs but you you THINK it is Liberal so I have to prove it is not. What planet are you from?

Just read the list. I already pointed out that the list is not liberal with one of the selections from it. It is about POLITICIANS, not which ones in particular.

You just admitted that following the links leaves you confused but points to a righty so you want me to prove otherwise. I actually read the list. Had you tried doing that, you would see that I am right. Here you are 3 or 4 posts later more worried about what links do not lead to where than the content of the list. What the OP says does not matter when you have content to actually read.

I don't think this should just be a list for republicans. I'd like to believe that elitists think this way too and that would include some democrats.
