I know I would prefer to use a Teleprompter when giving a speech, but that's just me. Shouldn't this man, who we have elected to be our leader, be smarter and more mentally acute than the average Joe? Especially on topics so "important" to him. Just my 2 cents.

No, it does not show weakness. Think of it it in the context of the moment. In one day you get 100 questions from multiple sources. You have to respond intelligently to each of them or get burned alive by the press, not to mention those in his political community just waiting for you to F*** up. The ability to think on you feet is a given at this level of government. But please keep in mind the media powers that be will stick a grappling hook in your spine if you screw up at any moment. The truth? You need the facts, and must be able to punt. Kind of one of those areas where you had to be there...

I suppose it is a matter of perspective, and where and when at the school he used teleprompters. Regardless, you can't scream hoax when he DID use them.

As the Washington Post reported Wednesday, "'We're going to raise the bar for all our students and take bigger steps towards closing the achievement gap that denies so many students, especially black and Latino students, a fair shot at their dreams,' Obama told a group of sixth-graders at Graham Road Elementary."

Nowhere did the Post mention that the President's teleprompter also appeared before the students.

Response from the white house...

"White House says teleprompter only in room for press event, not address to students."
