Even the Newbie Scott Brown gave his victory speech for it seemed two hours without skipping a beat. Never even looked down. It is great when an elected official can speak from the heart, or speak at all for that matter. Don't see it much.

Don't you guys get it? If he uses a teleprompter (like every president has since the invention of the notecard/cue card), then he clearly is some sort of socialist, NWO patsy!

I mean, it's as clear as the racism in Rush Limbaugh's voice!

Obama gets very awkward without a script. Awkward like a robot trying to explain an emotion.

For those who think this is normal and or desirable:

If you think he writes his own speeches, you are sadly mistaken.

Sure he has input and the staff writers are excellent at making it sound like it is genuine, but it is not.

I am not saying that is a bad thing either. However, it must be made clear that he does not write his own speeches.

Secondly, a president should be intelligent and genuine enough to be able to give a speech at a school on the fly. He chose the venue, he should also be smart enough to tailor the message. This guy is supposed to deal with international life and death decisions...what is he like behind closed doors when his charm doesnt matter?

If you think that a guy who is supposed to lead the country can go around to a school and not even look the kids in the eyes because he has to look at these ridiculous teleprompters to "talk" to them and you do not see the horror/hilarity of it, then I feel sorry for you.

Just imagine a movie coming out in the 70's where they showed this freakin' world we are living now and you would have called it science fiction! A puppet president sold on the people with chants of h(r)ope and c hang e.

Read the comments on the linked website where it came from. Even those who were fooled and voted for him feel they have been duped. It is beginning. Get on the right side of history.

Don't President's read to kids any more?
Why does everything have to be a stage show these days?

If it's one thing bush has over Obama it's he hated using a teleprompter / autocue.
I know he made goofy gaffs and bumbled his words but at least he didn't need a machine to spoonfeed him the words...

Nice photo, Thanks!

Clever how they position them on either side of him, so it looks as if he is addressing the audience, as you are taught to do so in speeches.

I am starting to feel sorry for Obama, his handlers are making him look like a fool.

Obama was not prepared for office, I think he relies on all those creeps like Rahm, Pelosi, it is sad actually, they knew he was their best bet and they used him,

But his ego let it happen,

How is it that this self-gratifying circle jerk made front page? Find something meaningful to care about instead.

You know, even though the guy I voted for is fighting the banks, pulling the Marines out of Iraq, and appointed a Justice who voted against allowing corporations to buy candidates, I now feel like I made a bad choice because he uses a teleprompter like every other politician. Or not.

I don't find it hilarious I find it scary and unsettling. Dear God just help us make it through 3 more years.

Pretty soon we may just see the teleprompter words on the TV without Obama at all. Sorta like karaoke where we read the words and don't have to hear Obama. It will be just words or some artificial synthesized voice saying "OBEY ME" read my words aloud and obey my commands, Obama commands you. There would also be some pulsating sound while we read the teleprompter and some pulsating lights to make it all dramatic and all.

Any of you who have ever been in a public speaking class (that's basic college level for some who have not taken the course) would know that preparing for even a short speech takes time. The President gives many speeches and has other things to do with his day which are more important than memorizing a speech. It doesn't bother me one bit that he reads from a teleprompter.

However, it's understandable that everybody is going to get their jokes in about the president; if this is what you guys choose to make fun of then so be it. It could be something worse, at least this guy can read the teleprompter...

The beauty of these things is that they can position the camera directly behind the semi transparent teleprompter and make it look like he is speaking directly to the nation.

Oh geez, did I just mention the word "transparent"?

I've got it,
...when he was talking about "transparency" he was actually refrring to his teleprompter.

I don't think Martln L King used teleprompters did he? For his famous "been to the mountain top" speech, did he even use one then?

I agree w/ the poster who said Obama was not ready for this and I don't think he would have ever been ready, he doesn't have the common sense and charisma, just some hot air that was rehearsed to him.

I hope our country comes up with someone solid for the next election.

Hey MaxBlack, I think you have a marketable idea there.

The Obama Karaoke Prompter,
...break it down!

The Obamabots amaze me. Sure I think as far as using a teleprompter goes for day to day speeches is fine. The fact is that he can't simply speak to kids. You guys voted for Obama because he was supposedly for the people but he isn't. If he thought like us he would talk to us (or at least 6th graders) in a casual fashion. He can't. The guy is a puppet just as most if not every president is. You guys immediately go back to Bush, that is the only thing you can do. Bush was an idiot and a puppet. New guy in and now a new puppet. When will you wake up, it isn't that hard. Of course you are still blinded by the messiah so I am really just wasting room on this thread I suppose.

Martin Luther King was great and accomplish many things; however, Obama has a bit more on his plate. You know, running the country and all that.

You didn't answer the question. In my opinion, MLK could have run circles around Obama; I can double garrontee you he could have given a talk to a classroom of 5th graders w/o two alternating prompters to read from like he was in a damn karaoke bar.

Please remember that Hitler didn't use teleprompters. If Obama was as good as him at giving speeches, you would all be bashing him for that, too.

No one is saying that Obama and his administration don't have their shortcomings, but I'm honestly a little disappointed that this is the most constructive way that you can spend your time. You all sound like the pundits that we usually decry as windbags on this site.
