Is there a conspiracy to say names wrong? But really I have a question for the interwebules.....

How does one pronounce Rothschild?

I believe it should be pronounced like "Roth's child".

It's germanic in it's roots, and in german would be pronounced like "roat shilt", which literally means "red shield".

It is pronounced roth child and means red shield. The families sirname was Bauer (pronounced like bower) but they changed it to match the red shield which hung above the entry to their gold storage business, which unfortunately for humanity is where the fractional reserve banking business was invented.

Hopefully the roth of God is near for that family
