Yeah, I'm not a Saints fan ... but I am a fan of a good and earnest story ...

A little disappointed they won't be playing my JETS, but I'm really happy for New Orleans and for Drew ... the former deserves all the success it gets and the latter is a fantastic QB and an even better human being.

Good luck in the SB ... I will be rooting for the Saints!

Semper.

Hats off to you Saints fans!!!

You guys came close back in 2006 even though they lost the NFC Title Game to Dahhhhh Bears. Then again, its been three years since that happened. Three years later, you get back to the NFC Title Game and snatch victory from Brett Favre's grubby paws.

GEAUX SAINTS!!!

I started the game cheering for the Saints because of my dislike for the Vikings (Packer fan here), but over the course of the game I found myself wanting the Vikings to win so Brett could get a shot at another Super Bowl.

I have a few issues with this game, though:

1: Horrible pass interference call in overtime to set the Saints up for a field goal.

2: The NFL needs to change this stupid coin flip rule in overtime. BOTH teams should get at least one possession. Don't let a damn coin flip decide a game, especially one as important as this.

3: For those Vikings fans out there who are blaming Brett for this - shut the hell up. I dare ANY of you to say you would have rather had Tarvaris Jackson out there. And unless you are willing to say that, you have no business blaming him for this loss.

Adrian Peterson fumbled three times. Despite what the official stats say, he fumbled on that exchange between him and Favre. Yes Brett threw two interceptions but they could have easily overcome those had they just held on to the damn ball.

This was a team loss. But if it weren't for Brett, the Vikings would have not only never had a shot at winning this game but also would have never made it to the NFC Championship.

I think Brett may be done. I think the physical and mental toll this game took on him will be too much. I have great respect for the guy and am happy for what he has done over his career and it is sad to see him go but I think this is it.

Having said that, if he is done: Good luck next year, Vikings fans. Don't be too shocked when you see a free fall in your offensive production.

Brett Favre is the following

1. One of my favorite people
2. My all time Favorite QB
3. Perhaps the greatest to ever play the game

I'm a Saints Fan yes, but I can appreciate talent on any team!!!

It was sad to see him lose, even in my joy for my team

Yeah. Like the Ravens with Ray Lewis and their bruising D against the oh, so rusty Colts who hadn't played a meaningful game in a month. And The Greatest Defense since the '85 Bears, Jets.

The Colts will win and Manning will be the difference. Breese is a great QB, but like the other 30 starting QBs in the league, he ain't Peyton Manning.

I definitely agree with all three. And I think those Vikings fans who are blaming him for this loss will only realize what they really had when he is gone.

If this is it for him, I really hate to see him go - even if he is playing for a team I despise. He makes up a very large portion of the positive image of the NFL. For him to go really depletes the truly great talent the NFL has quite a bit.

Anyway, congratulations to the Saints and their fans. It's nice to see a team go to the Super Bowl for the first time. It's also nice to see a great person and great player like Drew Brees get to go for the first time.

I don't think I will be cheering for either side but it should be a hell of a game regardless.

With the worst defense in the league I really doubt you should should be saying something like that.I mean considering how Manning torched the "number one defense" in the league.

Manning will break all of Favre's passing records easily if he sticks around for anytime at all.

Way to go Saints.

I think this Super Bowl will be a very good game.

I only wish that the Saints could have completed the season undeafeted, go on to win the SB.

What a story.

GO SAINTS !!!
