The magnitude 7.0 Haiti quake, however, occurred at a time of some upheaval over the science and public-policymaking associated with the New Madrid faults — zigzagging fractures in the Earth's crust along the Mississippi River extending to within 35 miles of Memphis.

"Suggesting these are just aftershocks and therefore (the New Madrid fault) is dead doesn't follow," says Susan Hough of the USGS. We have a seismic zone that produces earthquake clusters. The odds that it has shut off are pretty low."

Let's go along with the theory that it fizzled out. Shouldn't the area and the people still get prepared in case it suddenly becomes a very active area?

Earthquakes, as proven in Haiti are very unpredictable. Better safe than sorry.

They don't have any proof nor any evidence to back up there study.

Trusting Illinois-based Mid-America Earthquake Center is like trusting NASA

I will stick with the HARRP Theories on the Hatti matter.
I still pray for the victims whom have died.
