An Iraqi parliamentarian warns of alleged US plans to surrender the country to extremists, urging resistance on the part of Baghdad.

The Iraqi Press Agency (IPA) quoted female Shia lawmaker Maha al-Douri as saying that the United States aims to cede the country to Baath, the outlawed party of former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein, and Takfiris — both considered to be extremist groups.

Al-Douri, which serves the parliamentarian bloc associated with senior Shia leader Muqtada al-Sadr, said a recent visit by US Vice President Joe Biden had been in line with the plans.

That's great considering that Saddam's government was secular. Remember Iran wanted him dead because he resisted the Islamic Revolution.

Looks like that country will be a Theocracy now. So much for bringing 'democracy' to Iraq.

Maybe the USA will hand back Afghanistan to the Taliban too. At least the Taliban kept opium production down.

I know what you mean.
I took the info from them on purpose because is always interesting to read what is been said in other countries instead of CNN or FOX (no agenda or government control going on there)

Actually the reverse is true. Hypocritically, the Taliban encouraged opium production as it was an important source of funds for their activities. They even went so far as providing a spiritual sanction for Muslims to grow and refine it for use as a narcotic.
