Stars ?

Hello everybody !

I really want to know about Stars.
I already know how to award a post and i received a bunch of them.

I've searched for a thread or explanation.

I've not been able to find the answer. ( Probably i'm just an idiot )

Could someone please help or tell me what a star is for ?

Is it to meant just to give credit ?
Can i trade or give them away ?
Has it any value at all ? along with being a little proud to get one.

When someone stars your post, it is just like a pat on the back.

It means you had a good reply. Or that someone else agrees with you..

A "flag" is awarded when your thread is deemed "good content" by other members.

"Applause" is only awarded by the ATS staff moderators. It means that something you wrote was very good, and thought provoking.

If you got a star, youre doing well!!

Seriously, it's just recognition of a well written reply or that you agree with what they have written.

You get a small amount of points for stars, which are used to purchase things from the store, or as a general status symbol.

If you appreciate someones post you can star it once. If you like a thread you can flag a thread. when people star or flag your threads or posts it shows up on your Members Profile. Once you get 300 stars, 300 flags and 300 posts advertisements are disabled I believe.

You can't give your stars away or trade them.

there is no points awarded with stars or flags.
You get points for posting to threads and for members posting in your threads.
These points can be used in the ATS Store.

Thanks for asking this question. I'm somewhat new here myself and wasn't sure of the star system. Now i have a new question to add...


I don't see the stars above posts when im logged in, only when i'm "lurking". Is this common, or am i missing something?

Some ATS forums do not have stars. No BTS forums use stars at all.

I never knew that we could trade them in for anything. And yes, I did read the rules...apparently NOT good enough though. Refreshing now!
