Just watched a BBC news item about Jim McCormick; he invented a device to 'sniff' for explosives and drugs and it uses the bodies static electricity to power the unit.

His website (ade651.com) was taken down yesterday, so just google 'ade651' for info.

These 'devices' sell for $40,000 and the BBC managed to get hold of a few cards that are inserted into the device that are pre-programmed to 'sniff' for different explosives and narcotics.

They took them to Cambridge Uni and when they took it apart, it was just plastic and aluminium in the form of an RFID coil. He has now been arrested for fraud and released on bail.

How complicit were departments in allowing this pseudo-bull# technology to hit the Iraqi streets, where apparently £80Million worth were sold.

Here's an article with more info.

Thanks dereks, missed it by 20mins.

Perhaps a split thread about the power unit could be discussed. I saw a news clip showing a soldier in Iraq using the device and he was marching with his knees raised, like a Monty Python sketch; twas hilarious. That is where the proposed power comes from i suppose, kinetic energy transfer from body motion.

But still $40k each
