Some member mentioned the "timing" of this.

How many things over the last few years have brought about fury from people all over the political spectrum?

I would really watch out for a radical move by our government in the coming months.

This is always the way to more and more tyranny.

The old rope a dope. See this hand, do not look at the other.

100 Trillion and counting. Our country is owned by the corporate elite and their bankster masters.

We have never been in the game. Never.

When wealth is measure by the ownership of assets, true assets, we the people own NOTHING.

You think you own your house? Wrong, you own NOTHING.

Allodial Title, google it. You rent all of your assets, including your labor. You are owned lock stock and barrel by your government.

Paying yearly tax on property is proof positive, you own nothing. You are the custodial unit to the property, owned by the government.

I mentioned this line of thinking in a thread about how much of YOUR labor is required to reach a Utopia. It use to be that our government could get by with about 20%. It has reached now a mere 75%. Everywhere we turn they want more.

Long enough rant, something to chew on.

I just cant help but think this is in response to all the emails circulating the internet, about how people need to VOTE EVERYONE OUT AND START FRESH!

this will effectively kill everyone's voice for REAL POSITIVE change.

I agree also with the timing, yesterday something happen to me that only happens when certain "things" usually bad are about to happen.

I had the worst disppear in my hart, you are right, something is brewing and is going to get ugly.

The supreme court doing this at this time, just before the next mid term elections has been influence by something or certain groups.

A pay back? this nothing but corruption at its highest and people still doesn't realized that our nation is falling into chaos

You just gave me an idea. How about circulating a email that calls for all people, lobbyists, banks, and corporations affilliated with the Federal government to be taxed at a rate of 95% until the debt is paid off?

I wonder if that would go viral.

Paul Revere has already been here! The 545 Traitors that are running [ruining] America have already been bought and paid for by Corporate Nazi America. The ones they have already purchased vote just fine. Sam Walton gets to keep his Bazillions.

This is how the Magick Muslim is going to "stimulate" the economy. He is going to have the MSM hire [POLLITICALLY INCORRECT ADVERBLY REMOVED] and intellectually challenged EOEs to produce TV commercials telling us how bad the conservatives are "explitive" us and how the nice Marxists have our best interest at heart. They are going to convince us that our present state of slavery will feel much better if we adopt the version of slavery that they want us to have. Warm silky smooth KY for all! The Marksists will run their "pollitical free speech public service announcements" in prime time just before the "rigged" elections.

Enter Jesus: The Word of God is quick and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Run little Marksists! ... run! ... your going to fry. There is nowhere to hide! Roast and toast!

2nd line ... sizzle sizzle, pop pop, sizzle pop ....

Really? Do you really think that the big money players are going to demonize conservatives and canonize the liberals?

Look at the donation stats. Sure, everyone is at the trough, but the right wing's collective lips have been surgically grafted to the teat of big business.

Tell me, those who agree with this decision....

If money is considered speech than why have

any bribery laws on the books?

What I want to know is when did the supreme court start making laws???

Established by Article I of the Constitution, the Legislative Branch consists of the House of Representatives and the Senate, which together form the United States Congress. The Constitution grants Congress the sole authority to enact legislation and declare war, the right to confirm or reject many Presidential appointments, and substantial investigative powers.

So if congress passed a law limiting campaign contributions how can the supreme court over turn that law???? THAT IS UNCONSTITUTIONAL we need to throw these judges out that think the court makes laws they enforce the laws as congress writes them nothing in the constitution gives the supreme court the power to make law or over turn a law.

Too important a topic and too good an OP to fall down the page

I don't live in the US, although what happens in the US seems to have tentacles that spread wide

Thanks for this info

and yes, we'll probably all look back and say to each other, 'Remember when internet was free. Gee, those were the days '

Will people refuse to pay to talk online, do you think ?

Nah ... they'll pay

I remember when I had to steal telenet access from the University of Houston (all disney characters) in the late 80s pre-internet, so if by "remember when the internet was free" you mean that, sure.

Otherwise, you tell me when it was free?

Also OP- we've always paid taxes on the internet. Next? Further prices on bandwidth have dropped drastically in the past 20 years.

Personally, being the true Cynic that I am, I feel that it would be a good and welcome thing- all this corporate money flooding in. It'll either be a catalyst for change in our society as the masses get fed the hell up with this/the blinders are removed, or it'll only prove how complacent people really are in our society and thus won't make any huge difference anyway.

Either way, I welcome it- lets stop hiding behind curtains, just get it all out in the open and see what happens. I'm all for it. Let me have Burger King and Nike sponsored representation, please!

tl;dr- it'll be a great wake up call for the masses, or it'll prove how stupid and complacent society really is, and so I welcome this as a means to an end.

Hi all.
I live in Italy (we've a very bad government right now, I know), and I've been a fan of ATS for a long time. When I've read about the Supreme Court decision and the words from Grayson, my very first tought was: "The Omnicorp will be real! This world is absolutely CRAZY!!!". Like the Omnicorp from Robocop movie we'll have the big companies to rule our lives*. I say "we" and "our" because everything that happens in your country greatly influences Europe and Italy. I'm a little bit scared, believe me.

Ciao and GOOD LUCK!

*Well, they already rule our lives... sadly.

You like your guns?

Well kiss them good bye too.

Because after corporations have bought the government, all media, locked down the internet, bought police captains, judges and pretty much anyone who runs in an election all the way down to your local school board.

They will get rid of you guns.

Because the last thing they are going to do is give you a weapon to reverse all their hard work.

How ironic that it will be Conservative judges that took away your guns.

Btw...Glen Beck...SILENT.

NOt a GD word on this. The great defender of individual liberty.....the defender of our Democratic Republic. The man who rails against corruption...yet......

HE SAYS NOTHING. NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All the crap he talks about CHAIRMAN MAO and communists yet he says nothing about Chinese Corporations now being able to DICTATE OUR LAWS.

If he does not denounce this...he is a fraud.

I've felt it too marg. I have been extremely depressed all day. I dont' get like this....I get worried....but never this way. I just feel horrible right now.

I don't know how this can be stopped. What can we do?

Republicans? LOL. Anyone coming out in support of this can burn in hell as far as I'm concerned.

So what is left? Do we have to depend on the current Congress to fix this destruction of our country's democracy and sovereignty before the next election that will be COMPLETELY CORRUPTED???

Wow marg. It's sad. Democracy...we the people....DIED.

We have had our left blinker on for a year now, why are we turning right? I think by the word "fight" he meant to say vote. Don't go shooting government people in an attempt to keep your country.

I completely agree, David. This situation has completely proved that no matter how pretty or appealing someone's speech may be, or how many tears they shed over the loss of their country, if they are on the MSM, they are the MSM.

Glenn Beck's abject silence on the issue should prove that he is just another facet of the corporate machine. He serves a niche, just like Ron Paul does in politics. Someone may love what they say, but in the end, they get their paychecks from the corporate machine, not the people.

This ruling now puts Corporations on the same level as Unions, who are stealing their member's money without their permission.

Real fairness is that neither corporations or union should be able to donate, only US citizens.

If Ron Paul supports this....then I can no longer support Ron Paul.

I found myself watching keith olberman last night....and i HATE HIM....but I agreed with him....he was right.

Yet...we got Sean Hannity screaming yippie!!! Glen Beck says NOTHING...to O'reilly's credit...he spoke out against it supposedly..although I haven't seen it. I dont' know what Rush said...he's a POS anyway.

Conservatives are saying that the Massuchusetts election was the shot heard around the world.......well that's wrong.

This ruling was the REAL shot heard around the world. The supreme court just crapped all over the middle class and the poor.

Wealth will now determine influence in government....not individual liberty...and damnit EVERYONE should be raging mad.

Absolutely....easiest way to do that is to make all campaigns publicly funded...through taxpayer money. I will GLADLY pay more in taxes to keep our political system as "corrupt free" as it possibly can be.

I will tell you what, this decision has pulled back the curtain on alot of people in the media.

Anyone with half a brain knows this decision is the most dangerous attack on our way of government. This decision is a thousand times more deadly to our way of life than 9-11.

Yet look at the cast of characters and their silence.

These are people who actually believe and try to convince people that Obama was born in Keya and is Muslim\Marxist\Socialist\Communist terrorist who is out to kill Grand Ma with his death panels and Fema camps.

Yet here is the SCOTUS passing a decision that fundamentally changes our Democracy and ...nothing. Nada, Zip, Zero.

I will put it plainly because you have to come to this conclusion.

Neo Conservatives are truly evil people who have been masquerading as Republicans in order to push their agenda.

From possibly attacking its own citizens during 9-11, to starting illegal wars based on lies, to torturing and spying on Americans and giving unbelievable amounts to the banks and now this.

How can anyone who calls themselves a defender of the Constitution believe these charlatans anymore.

They have convinced you that people like me Progressive Liberals are the enemy, when behind you they have been systematically using you as Judas goats to destroy this country.

You Conservatives have been duped and this decision and lack of response from them is evidence written in stone.

There is no denying it anymore. How long can Conservatives here just stay silent. Like invading Iraq wasn't a mistake, or torture is ok because we needed to and now, it's ok if corporations can buy and put whomever they want in government.

When are you going to stand up, turn around and tell these charlatans that you are a decent Jeffersonian and not some elitist warp minded hateful scum.
