And for those claiming the Koran is evil take a closer look at the Old and New Testament. There are plenty of calls by god to murder women children and families for a wide array of silly things. The Bible is cherry picked just like the Koran. A holy book is a justification for what is already in a persons heart. People murder all over the world for all manner of reasons. This is not a soley religious principle. Empires did this based on the idea that they too were chosen by God. Politics finds rationalizations for every terrible action ever taken in history. It just happens to be that religions holy texts are ripe for the picking as most of them contain passages calling for death.

The difference with the Bible is the reason behind the killing and the time in which it took place. The New Testament NEVER condones the murder or a person. It allows for the ruling authority (which was not a christian theocracy but the roman empire) to judge and punish those who do wrong. The Old Testament verses are often picked out, you are right. I don't understand it fully yet, but there are two commands that summarize everything Christianity is supposed to be. Love God and love people. Everyone. Period.

In my experience I have met more common criminals and see more murderers and arsonists and economic criminals being charge on a year to year basis then I see Muslims put away for terrorism.

That's because that "terrorism" is not done as much in the US and when it is done overseas it is acceptable in Islamic nations and even encouraged. Obviously people wouldn't get put away from doing evil if the government itself encourages it.

I can't comment on religious texts because I've never got round to studying any, it's on my 'to do' list- so sue me. However, it seems to me that there are violent militants in most if not all religions. I would also hazard a guess that in total numbers as opposed to percentages there are more of these radicals in christianity than any other religion.

Something else that many westerners fail to understand is that just as in America and Europe, there are significant percentages of non-religious citizens in these so called muslim countries. I think it's a very poor strategy to judge nations or religions from the comfort of your sofa without ever going out into the world to find out things for yourself.

From my own personal experience, when I lived in China I had no problems at all with working and socialising with both muslims and non religious folk. However, the most radical and hate filled people around me were those who had converted to christianity. When I was in Israel I was in a kibbutz of a non-religious nature where the inhabitants all wished the Israeli and Palestinian conflict would end once and for all and allow the palestinian people to have somewhere to finally call home. When I lived in Australia the only problems of a religious or racist nature came from white christians and their hatred for aborigines and any non-christian asians. When I lived in the US I came across far and away the largest number of radical militant violent and hate filled people of any nation anywhere and they were all either non-religious or christian. There were regularly placard waving protests against every religion apart from christianity and perhaps buddhism. I left America very disheartened having always thought very highly of it's people, government and society. I would have loved to find out the views of the older less assimilated Native Americans in regard to the invasion of Europeans to their nation.

I agree that there can be some very barbaric practices undertaken by members of some of these less understood religions, but anyone who believes the same isn't true of christianity is guilty of accepting the mainstream view without ever trying to find the truth themselves.

In my humble opinion most religions were begun by non-believers as a means of controlling the masses and are still run today by those people and for those reasons. None of these puppet masters believe in their religions. They are all members of the elites and are proponents of the NWO agenda behind closed doors. The nicest thing I can say about them is that they are either sociopaths or psychopaths under the influence of more clever sick or powerful forces.

All this hatred and prejudice towards others of different faiths colours and nationalities are deliberately constructed views and beliefs, created by the powers that be to cause conflict. By arguing we are fulfilling their wants and needs for us. From conflict comes control, opportunity, and power. Our only realistic long term hope is that we stop allowing ourselves to be the very pawns they want us to be. I actually believe that as a race of animals we are not a naturally violent one. We only appear so as the abherrant behaviour of the small percentage of psychopaths has always given them an advantage in survival and control. If you have no scruples or morals it becomes much easier to make a success of your life, if you consider money, power and possessians as success.

No freedom of speech you say?

Seems you're practicing just that right now. Checked, just to make sure, and yep, looks and sounds like free speech to me...

Islam, like so many religions founded by man, has it's share of freaks who want to kill the unbeliever. It, like so many religions founded by man, have many, many more who don't, and would just as soon those few didn't kill the unbeliever...

I could wish that the more moderate members of Islam would step forward and condemn the zealots who want to do nothing but kill...but I'm not in their shoes facing the chance of being killed for doing that.

I love how you immediately resort to personal attacks because you have nothing significant to contribute to the conversation. The Percentage is based of the number of those under the Shi'a school of Islam as opposed to the Sunni sect. Check it out in any informative book on islam or take the easy route and go to religionfacts.com

It's a pretty comprehensive site that provides info on numerous religions without promoting one over another. Gives good summaries too, though the info is not all encompassing and can be misleading if you only take the info they have.

Care to contribute this time?

What I hear is Divide-Divide/ Conquer-Conquer... It's the same broken record being played throughout generations.

The United States was not founded on Christianity. The founding fathers were Gnostic something we should all be inspired by. The main similarity between modern day religions is the fact they fell victim to politics. Islam being the biggest political system on the planet. That's not a good thing mind you. What I suggest is you pay attention to the math when reading through the pages of history. Don’t stop at the Roman Catholic Church, and by no means get wrapped up in obeying, serving, and "not annoying" a Mohammed who couldn't even manage moral conduct in his own lifetime.

Catholicism and Islam make a mockery of God. These teaching are regurgitated stories from as far back as the Sumerian civilization. I'm able to cite countless references, and I recommend you spend a couple of hours doing research.

The sooner we drop this line of bickering… The faster truth will surface. This is one quote I agree with… "Truth stands out clear from Error." Our Creator makes no mistakes, so don't think for a second these flaws you spew are part of nature. They're your ego coupled with some really poor choices.

Please understand that I would agree about the NWO issues regarding perhaps the Catholic church, but many churches do not fall under any hierarchy and are self-governing. My church has the Bible as its only authority on earth, and being one of the leaders of the church I can say that we do actually believe it. Can't speak for everyone though.

I also agree that most cults, and major religions are for the benefit of a person or group of elites. Hinduism and Buddhism dont seem to fall into that category. Scientology definitely does. That thing was evil and crazy from the start. It saddens me that they call themselves a church.

Hey friend! welcome to the 21st century! It belongs to atheism. I'm Catholic and I feel your annoyances. Hell, all priests are rapists because a couple are, right? And Mother Theresa is evil because of a few money laundering incidents, thus invalidating all her good, right? And everyone knows that the Pope is our unquestionable dark overlord of the Sith because a few Catholics worship him as God on Earth, right?

Well no. And the same is for your religion. Don't stand alone, because you're not. Hatred of any Abrahamic faith is hatred of God, and thus a contradiction to themselves. hatred of any person is against God, and thus a form of hatred to his creation, and thus himself.

All I can say is say the truth and hope enough hear it to carry it on after you die. Unlike nature, mankind generally builds itself up over time, not degrades and decays.

uhhhhh . . . no.

Nothing taken out of context from the Koran.

Read page after page . . . the context itself is plenty horrid.

100+ hideously violent exhortations and instructions re what to do with Non-Muslims!!!

No amount of rationalizing works.

No thanks.

Hey dude, how bout i bring the verses from the bible and you bring the verses from the quran, we'll see who has the worst verses, i guarantee you will be humilated and will lose any ounce of credibility you had or ever will had, so are you up for it?

Some youtube videos and a fox blog? Really, case closed? How sad.

I would hate to think of some of the ideas that could be contrived from American youtube videos. What if a country got a hold of a the Jackass videos, does that group define America?

It is easy to pick and choose little reasons to dislike a group.

And you certainly need more then youtube.
