If a dictatorship took charge,How many American's do you think would become informants?

I remember reading something about the German Democratic Republic having over a million informants. How many Americans out there do you think would spy on and turn in fellow Americans to the Military,Secret Police or maybe FEMA in the future? I think a very large number would become stool pigeons if They thought they would get rewards(financial and otherwise)from that Government.

With the economy the way it is people will turn in their grandmother for a slice. Call me cynical.

Depends on the reward. I bet alot of Americans would if they knew they wre going to get lots of money or whatever. Aren't there already spies turning in regular citizens to the government? If they are doing it now, who knows how many would be doing it if there was a dictatorship.

Isn't there an Office of Homeland Security line when You can inform on others and not have Your identity given out? I think it would would become a very large number with a Civilian or Military Dictatorship.

80% would turn in thier fellow citizens for cash, protection or favored party status.
