Haiti..mass catastrophe/..lessons learned?

I think we just got an axcellent forecast of what happens to a society during a major melt-down.

I wonder what others think about what will happen when/if it happens to a more developed country like USA or UK? I think the human response will be the same...looting, rioting, groups disolving, no organization or control.

That said, there are lessons to be learned by all of us to prepare for that in our own time and country.
