WASHINGTON -- Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) on Wednesday said the Massachusetts election was a "wake up call" for Democrats and that his party had better change course or it could suffer devastating losses come November.

"People elected Democrats in 2008 to change the direction," he told Raw Story in a nearly hour-long interview.

"And the same entrenched interests that George Bush could not shake, this current White House is having great difficulty in shaking. One could suggest they might be more entrenched than ever."

Kucinich staunchly defended liberalism but alleged that Democrats are not behaving like liberals.

Thank You mr. Kucinich, aren't there two C's in his name though?
Anyhow this is not a wake up call for anyone except blind Dem supporters and there are ALOT of them!

"There's nothing liberal about letting coal and oil write climate change legislation," he added. "Are you kidding me?"

"We're redistributing the wealth of the nation upwards by giving the insurance companies 30 million new customers, $50 billion a year more in revenue."

Please understand people this is NOT socialism, so can we please stop calling Obama a socialist?
This is economic fascism NOT socialism!!!!!
Please stop using the word socialism PLEASE!

"Well, which direction are we building in?" Kucinich responded. "If we give insurance companies a monopoly on health care, if we put no controls on premiums, if we give them antitrust exemptions... Is this the direction we build in to protect health care for people, or to protect insurance companies?"

This is why socialism will never work, because in today's world it will end up being economic fascism. This is precisely why free market is important.

"You ask the banks to reform banking?" he said. "Put the insurance companies to reform insurance. Call in nuclear to reform energy policies? Are you kidding me?"

WOW

Spread the word guys!
The blind people need to be awakend!

I am from Ohio, and this guy is an Idiot. We diddnt vote for Democraps because we wanted change we voted for them because it was them or the Repukes. Democraps were in charge of the HOUSE for 2 years under bush, so what does that say to you?

We voted for change yeah right, we voted for those idiots because there are no other parties in the country we can vote for.... We have two that have always run... Remeber along time ago it use to be called the Democrat-Republican party, which split into various factions, and now we have these two parites.

But what should we expect from people like him ya know?

Ya I know how you feel bro
I do agree it almost seems like a losing battle before it even starts

But check this out

Listen to what he says about the debate commision
Ron Paul endorsed the 3rd party candidates instead of McCain after dropping out

He highlights how 3rd party don't get into debates and such
It's completely unfair and because of Clinton, he was so scared of Ross Perot

One of the few honest members of Congress telling it like it is. Kucinich really needs to team up with Paul to show the people that this isn't a right or left issue. Both might have different views on a number of topics, but the important thing is they know who the real enemy is and how this whole dog and pony show is run.

S&F!

Democrats have wholeheartedly failed. They have completely failed the American people who voted them into office. The problem is, they were voted into office because the Republicans also wholeheartedly failed the American people as well.

The more people vote these two parties into office the more they see that neither party has any interest in really fixing what is wrong with this country. People don't vote for the best people, they vote a party. That is wrong. People should research what these candidates actually stand for, find out what these people will actually do and vote because the ideals that candidate stands for appeal to what values the person who is voting for them stand for.

Democrats have done [snip] all while in office, Republicans would do just as badly.

This year, this election I am not only going to not vote for anyone that has a (D) or (R) beside their name, I am also putting my money where my mouth is and entering the race myself. As the old saying goes, "If you want something done right, you better do it yourself".

I can do a better job than these idiots. And I think that other members here should do the same thing, run for office. Forget expecting THEM to change. Change it yourself. There is still time to get on the ballot in most races. Run as an independent, get out there get your message out, let them know you are mad as hell and aren't going to take it anymore.
