Conspiracy theory is just a term that represents the truth that people dont want to acknowledge.

If he wants to get rid of conspiracy theorist, he will have to kill me first!!!

A chilling development for all conspiracy theorists is the top story for this edition of ATS News, the revelation that Obama administration is seeking to infiltrate groups of conspiracy theorists, and disrupt the flow of free expression.

Hey - if it works for China then why can't it work for the United States?

The Constitution and the Bill of Rights are just ideologies that apparently are in the way of the Elitists that really run this country!

Heres the thing. He has said that he wants the conspiracies to end. Thats not the same as saying he wants the theorists to stop thinking.

"Harvard Professor who now works for Obama once happened to write an article about the dangers of some Conspiracy-Theories"

becomes

"Obama staffer wants cognigitve infiltration of Conspiracy-Groups"

becomes

"Obama staffer wants to stop Conspiracy-Theory"

becomes

"Obama wants to stop Conspiracy Theorists!"

I wish there were less hype and more substance. You guys complain about the mass-media distorting informaton, but whats this all about?

Dear Johnny, dear CEO and Members

What creepy noise do you have in that video that makes me sweat, complete wet hands in one second?!

It's at:
13:26
14:04
15:35
15:41

You can hear it clear! It's always exactly the same noise. WHAT IS THAT?!
Do you ban me now in a few minutes?

I have recorded it for my archive and will try to analyze it.

Aww crap. Looks like Obama is on a killing spree again, with guillotine for men. He walks around town with a frown on his face as he screws the whole world of a conspiracy theorists place.

This is NOT news.

Firstly, this subject has had two other threads, the first being almost ten days old.

Secondly - did you REALLY think the Government wasn't already doing this?

Thirdly, it's not Obama (but well done for not presenting the facts, all the same), it's just ONE of his advisors that has put some siggestions within a white paper on conspiracy theories in the general media.

Get it straight, bro!

With someone like Cass so close to a person in power, it makes us think. Can he persuade the President to agree with him and sway the country toward socialism? I believe so. It does not sit well with me at all.

Edit to add, great episode! Keep up the great work.

Seriously dude...you need help...I tried to find the sound you were referring to...the first one was the pitch of his voice distorting the sound for the most briefest of moments...hardly even noticeable unless you REALLY listen closely...I couldn't hear the second one...and pretty much stopped there because I realized you were insane
...if something like that freaks you out so much you start sweating and turn it into something so outrageous...you seriously need to get a grip...whatever you do...don't watch the video on the new thread about using sound to levitate objects...your brain will probably explode and you'll sweat so much all that will be left of you is a puddle of water...

Just my 2 bits, I very much appreciated the more subdued tone of this report. It was much easier to take along with my morning coffee. I can't usually tolerate too much exhuberance at this time of the morning (or any time of the day to be honest).

a) Exactly where does it say that Obama wanst to stop conspiracy theorists?

b) isn't the existence of this site and many hundreds of others just like it refuting what you are touting?

c) Cass Sunstein is the author of the paper and it's his idea not obama's and has nothing to do with anything that is on the legislative table at all.

I have to ask, why is ATS picking up the mantle of ignorant alarmist sensationalism and making a mountain out of...well it's not even a molehill.

idle speculation and conjecture is hardly what I would call a worthwhile pursuit.

thumbs down on this one ATS, you are definitely shooting yourself in the foot here.

each day brings less credibility to this place. for shame ats, for shame.

Before this was posted (it seems mere minutes), I had proactively refined the thread title to include "Administration Staffer." Not so much because I don't believe the original statement, but in an effort to ensure the focus of concern and discussion is on the views of this staffer, not the provocative nature of the thread title.

However, make no mistake that it's a valid inference to assume the POTUS shares the views of his appointees... especially when those views are widely published and discussed, and include proposed government policy (as opposed to little-seen videos of long-ago gaffs or barely-known opinions). Until proven otherwise, I stand by the implication that, due to his appointment, Obama (and/or his closest advisors) share the points of view of Sunstein.

(about the redesign of ats) It would be beneficial of ats members to be able to subscribe to other members threads. As you would subscribe to a youtube account - so would be subscribing to members latest threads.

Also, i fined a white background would be more appealing generally then the dark black background currently used. Facebook, google, youtube etc share this.

I know this comment won't be well received, but I think Johnny Anonymous is more annoying than anything. His delivery of the information is not smooth and I don't find him even slightly humorous. Sorry, but I have to say it.

As far as Obama goes, what is so shocking and disturbing about Obama wanting to infiltrate conspiracy sites? Come on, people, stop acting like this is some unbelievable revelation. For God's sake, you'd probably be MORE shocked if you knew the number of members already on this website who are agents for the government or some other organization trying to gather intel or determine current levels of awareness within the population. They've probably been here since the beginning. No need for all the drama over it.

Well, I think you've missed the general point then. The idea that the government would spy on places like this has been ridiculed (probably by the very people who have infiltrated it) and claim that such an assertion is filled with paranoia and conspiracy. Well, for the ATS members who have been saying this all along, they can now demonstrate this theory with hard evidence,...its called VALIDATION. I'm sure you're aware of how validation can bring relief and credence to an argument.

Interestingly enough, you seem to be here trying to cushion and deplete the amount of agency (power) that a revelation like this brings...WHY??? What do you have vested in it if its so "old hat" to you?

main point: bring into derision?

Sorry, I'm not crazy. It's very conspicuous how you react on this toppic, sorry. I just don't trust this whole ATS thing. The Sound is there, and it is repeating, and it sound like some generated frequencies with different heights. And sorry, i saw 10000 Videos online, and this is not an artifact of any kind I know or a overdrive. I am musician and I know what I hear, sorry. btw. I posted already something to the "sound levitation thread", I know this effect very well and my brain didn't explode.

And please try to be a bit nicer, thanks.

It has been my understanding that governments have been investigating conspiracy theorists and theories for some time. I'm sure the Bush administration did so too.

The suppression of free speech is always, and should always, be a concern to the citizens of a democratic society.

IMO the government is only interested in keeping tabs on potentially violent behavior, but who's to say they won't cross the line and become a sort of secret police of ideas. Some conspiracy theorists do, in fact, become violent.

I could be naive, but I think the Sunstein paper will not lead to such drastic action on the part of the government.

It's good for Americans to be vigilant in protecting our rights but not paranoid.

Great thread, thank you for bringing this information to the forefront, and thank you for the greatest web-site in the history of the internet. I mean that sincerely.

I saw this thread and couldn't help but comment. I stated something similar in a different thread today.

I can't help but use this analogy to make a point here. This reminds me of the age old question " What came first the chicken or the egg?" Of course, the egg came first otherwise the chicken wouldn't exist.

So, what came first the conspiracies or the theorists. Again, of course, the conspiracies came first. The only way to eliminate the theorist is to eliminate conspiracies. Eliminating conspiracies in this world is an impossibility. I don't understand. What are they going to do, start telling the truth from this point on? I highly doubt it.

Is it that they want to eliminate the "conspiracy theorist" entirely, or do they just want to eliminate the one's actually telling the truth. The latter makes more sense to me.

My apologies for the redundence.

Am I wrong about this? Only TIME will tell.

Well, THAT explains the stupidity. Effect through observation.

And then its also hard to hold a candle to those wise old thirteen year olds and lofty Phds who really do know everything.
