The viscious cycle of deja vu
Current mood: determined
Category: Writing and Poetry

Dont be fooled by the days in the news,
It always seems the same but there are other views,
As people die and suffer throughout the world today,
There are many committed to finding a much better way.
You cant give up on yourself or those that you love,
Your friends who need your support can be brought up way above,
From rock bottom where they may be is always a daunting task,
And with their eyes and there actions it is to you that they ask.
Life is hard and for some, more then we know, even harder,
Never push them away but push them to try harder.
Knowing you will stand in their corner no matter what,
Will build them forever stronger and forever fill their gut,
With easiness and understanding even when they shall fail,
After all they`re your friend, so no, never bail.

There`s a lot of %&*#ed up # going on today,
Mother Earth continues to rebel everyday and every way.
The blood keeps on spilling from innocent to criminal,
And everywhere you turn life looks more miserable.
The jails are getting filled up with people who sell and bought,
No other way to make money but the way they were taught
Any courage gets buried when there`s silence of the voices.
So the vision gets blurried when we have no other choices.
Kids still starve in this day and age,
Ruthless leaders keep the money and remain center stage.
%@#holes in power take bribes from corporations,
But when you forget to feed the meter you`re ticketed without hesitation.
Our soldiers are sacraficing for the freedoms we behold,
It makes it more imperative to treat your ballot like its gold.

Its time to elect leaders from your own communities,
Not the Clintons and Romneys who clearly lie on tvs.
Real men and women alike will always hold their ground,
And you will find them close by if you open up and look around.
Times have changed in regard to what is long written,
Act now, strike first with your views and keep it smitten.
Have courage, live with honor, respect your fellows and their minds,
Experience all you want but share in your finds.
We have to teach each other our wisdoms that we know
In order for the children and adults alike to grow.
Except all for who they are and do not try to change them,
Their honesty is what we desire like a flower from a long stem.
Stick together with your family, neighbors and your friends,
To your communities, your state and country, the world needs amends.

Great, now you can write a poem about the Viscious cycles of deja reve.

Although reading this poem, it really didn't give me any deja vu.

Déjà vu is French for "already seen" where Déjà Rêvé is French for "already dreamed", which begs a question, how much of your Déjà vu is actually Déjà Rêvé?

I prefer pancakes, not that waffles don't have a certain flare with strawberries and whipped cream.

It just is what it is... I don't write the book, I just read it.

I like the poem, its just I don't see how it relates to the vicious cycle of
deja vu. But yeah, poem was awesome; I liked the rhyming!

I did like the poem too, and also IRM's funny comment about reading it twice. Waffles... not so much.

Thanks for the compliment. When I was writing this, I was watching the news and it just seemed as if it all happened before, the deaths and the destruction are everyday, which took me to realize the cycles of this insanity in which we live and breed through.

Oh, worse then waffles, the egg coating fried in grease just rapes my taste buds.

Personally, for breakfast food... a quality eggs benny with a side of hash-browns and some bacon.

What do you make of all this insanity we call life?

Quite the something to have to exist in. For me, sometimes too surreal to be real. Like a bad episode of Red Dwarf like when they met the despair squid. I just hope I don't wake up looking like Duayne Dibbly.

I`m not sure I can sum up a good answer for that one just yet although I`m subconsciously working on it. Too surreal indeed. As a matter of fact I`ve been getting that feeling way too often, even with my dreams at some level. But life has become way too surreal and I think that`s what happens as your awareness grows.

I`m not sure about that hollander sauce or whatever its called but everyone loves bacon.

Well, at least you have the awareness to realize a bigger reality where dreams also play a role.

Dreams and reality are from my perspective, the same idea but experienced differently. At some point, they can converge and reality and dreams become one. Hence, the whole dream come true ride I've been on for some time.

Try making sense of a dream reality dualism, it really strikes a blow at one's sensible linear reasoning, yet answers so many questions as to why this world is so insane.

Interesting theory to say the least and without extensive thought on the subject I can see some logic to your belief. But I also have thought extensively about my own personal sleeptime dreams some of which I have been having since an early age and some of which tend to change a little each time as opposed to the ones which are always the same. And then of course there are the dreams of events yet to take place. So I think that we are definitely on some other mental level while sleeping and not just getting rest for our bodies. I have had out of body experiences whille dreaming and have chosen to block a lot of stuff out that I am now begining to think of as I`m writing this. I`m not sure what to make of it all but yes I have had some very real situations with dreams and know there is much for me to learn on the topic.

You and me both. In fact, many ATS members will have to come to terms with this little anomaly. A crack in the fabric of our belief systems really.

I've studied the phenomena for over 20 years so knowing it exists is not really a novel realization by now. Rather, a well studied and acute knowledge exists where by finding the most useful metaphor to articulate the knowing into something meaningful to others presents the only real challenge.

Fortunately, the dream/reality dualism exists beyond just me and that knowledge allows me to let a person such as yourself reflect on your own personal experiences with it.

All I need to do, is simply present the knowledge in such a way as to allow you to realize what already exists as part of your experiences. Then bring light to the fact that it's not going to ever go away, just be blocked out by belief and reason.

It's a mad hatter hiding in each of us, springing up to just kick the belief can so we can think more profoundly as to what the real relationship is between all experiences we find ourselves looking at.

That bigger picture so to speak.

csulli, I now understand what you mean by the title of your poem. You use the word deja vu differently then I would, but it still makes sense. The day to day monotony can seem like deja vu, i totally get it.
