Why are you fighting?

What is the eventual goal?

I have heard some arguments, and points made by both sides...mostly by the other sides...but what is it that all of these folks are fighting about?

When neighbors, family, or even couples fight...it is assuredly over some direction, or outcome that each wants, that they feel wont be attained by not doing it their way.

Forgive my ignorance of the prize. Not too many Israeli's, Jews, Lebonese, yada yada here in my little spot of the creation.
