America would not be headed for the rocks if the processes were never sped up. They were meant to be slow and drawn out.

Then when would be a good time for healthcare reform? It has been debated for years. Is a century enough? Maybe a millenia will do

Slow and drawn out is one thing, stagnation is something else.

I agree, but such a drastic change so quickly from one of the more liberal states in the country is rather telling.

That Scott Brown has apparently won the election is great news, but don't call it until it is official. Calling early can be a disruption tactic. Make sure every vote is counted and accounted for, all the unused ballots are accounted for, even if your guy wins. We have to take back America and to take back America we have to restore the honesty of the elections. They are too hackable and the results count for too much. Every citizen should know what we are up against as a nation.Watch Bev Harris' "Hacking Democracy" It should be seen by everybody who thinks elections are fair. We need to take the blinders off.

Now just hope and pray that he is not another Obama. We'll find out soon enough when the Senate starts voting

Hopefully Brown will be an instrument for liberty and freedom. Oh wait, hes in the GOP, never mind.

Next thing you know, the country will swing back to the right, tax cuts only for the wealthy, and a big F.U. to the middle and lower class.

Cmon America, time to kick both the GOP and the Democrats out of office. Time to elect real leaders, real people that aren't in the corporate pockets.

Amen to that Brother!

Hammer meets nail!

Star for you!

Not really skoalman. Remember, we've had a long run of Rep Governors including most recently Romney. Ted Kennedy was iconic. The only way he was getting out of office was if he died. He's done a huge amount for this state. Kerry could easily get the boot in 2010 and Gov. Patrick as well. So we're not quite as die-hard Dem up here as the MSM would have you believe.

Disclaimer: Democrat bashing inc. The Republicans are just as bad in every circumstance but dems are in the spotlight now......

Brown winning is a win against Obama's healthcare plan, thank God. This bill is so bad that democrats have:

1) Bribed their own party members into willingness to vote (Nelson for example). It is a felony for me to bribe my senator into voting for something but within the senate they can bribe all they want in a unique way.
2) Not been voting by principle but through political maneuvering. The corruption of Pelosi allowing some of her fellow dems to not vote for the bill so they can get reelected is seen as wrong in the eyes of voters.
3) Given into unions who were against the high premium taxes and threatened no support for the democrat party if they weren't exempt from it. Another example of unique bribery.....

I can't believe the rancid corruption and lack of principles that the democrats have paraded in front of the American people. This is why Brown won. The dems totally shot themselves in the foot even though they maintained amazing majorities in the house and senate and had executive control. Ramming legistlation quickly down the throats of the American people, who want a slow and methodical process of legislation, is the most idiotic thing the dems could have ever done and they did it on numerous occasions.

Trust me, the dems will not try to force healthcare now. This is a huge wakeup call and stories like this are starting to come out: www.foxnews.com...

If the dems continue to push healthcare they are done for and they now know it.

I can't believe the shere arrogance of the people we've elected to political power. The people still have the power, they used it yesterday, and shoved the arrogance down the dems throats just like they tried to shove bad legislation down ours.

Yup, just another establishment sponsored metro sexual prosthetic tool.. nothing new or earth shattering here.. based on the record of the GOP war & violence party of incompetent liars... this is disgustingly sad.

This is exactly how divide and conquer works, people get all giddy as if this is some kind of "message" to DC or a sign that the people are ready to shake things up..

The only message this sends DC is that the american people are still too dumb to break their 2-party slave chains.. the divided & conquered masses just cant figure out that the DNC & GOP are failures that have ruined this country and caused the needless slaughter & suffering of millions.

Send a real message to DC and vote 3rd party.

If the elites want the healthcare bill passed, it will be passed.

Maybe Obama forced this win because he realized the budget problems?

Brown actually lost in some hand counted locations

www.blackboxvoting.org...

"According to preliminary media results by municipality, Democrat Martha Coakley won Massachusetts overall in its hand counted locations,* with 51.12% of the vote (32,247 hand counted votes) to Brown's 30,136, which garnered him 47.77% of hand counted votes. Margin: 3.35% lead for Coakley.

Massachusetts has 71 hand count locations, 91 ES&S locations, and 187 Diebold locations, with two I call the mystery municipalities (Northbridge and Milton) apparently using optical scanners, not sure what kind. "

"
The greatest margin between the candidates was with ES&S machines -- 53.64% for Brown, 45.31% for Coakley, a margin for Brown of 8.33%. It looks like ES&S counted a total of 620,388 votes, with 332,812 going to Brown and 281,118 going to Coakley. Taken overall, the difference -- 8.33% Brown (ES&S) added to 3.35% Coakley (Hand Count) shows an 11.68% difference between the ES&S and the Hand Counts. Of course, as Mark Twain used to say, there are three kinds of lies: Lies, damned lies, and statistics. These statistics don't prove anything, and probably shouldn't be discussed without a grain of salt handy before examining more detailed demographics.

As a point of reference, however, in the Maine gay marriage issue recently there was no significant overall difference between machine count and hand count locations. "

Sounds like they had a bunch of democrats doing the hand counts in an attempt to skew the election results.

I don't know if this was a referendum on Health Care Reform as much as it was the people of Massachusetts not liking Martha Coakley as their next senator, and liking Scott Brown for the job better.

There is more to being a senator than voting for or against this health care reform.

It's funny. Well, maybe not. I've been a "card-carrying" member of the Libertarian Party for 20 years. I'm not trying to convert anyone, just stating fact. Every election I go out door to door and stump for the party. I don't mind debating anyone, especially those who disagree. What is most disturbing are the amount of folks who simply don't care or have given up. To them all voting means is jury duty.

AAAAhhhhhhh...The pipedream of a viable 3rd party.
A party that actually represents the people.
Do you actually think the PTB will really let that happen ?
Unless it's a 3rd party that's also under their thumb.
Not very likely.
....but it's nice to have dreams.

People will be rudely awakened when the dollar is the new nickle and tanks are parked on their lawns...

It's un freaking believable how gullible party people are, they treat every polished establishment turd like it's something shiny & new.. they believe every new party clown who smiles out lies... then cheer about it!!

Seriously, all you party clones out there, try this lesson in what 2-party US politics is all about: shoot yourself in the left foot... when it heals and you're done limping counterclockwise-wise, bust a cap in your right foot.. then note the "change"... this way you walk in lock-step with your party as they cause the nation circle the drain... and those of us who are not owned can identify, avoid and mock you.

This is from blackboxvoting.org

www.blackboxvoting.org...

"HOW THE MEDIA "CALL" MAY ULTIMATELY CONTROL POLICY

If Tuesday's Massachusetts special senate election is "called" for Democrat Martha Coakley, expect to see a rush to install her, copying a Republican tactic in 2006 whereby San Diego's Brian Bilbray was seated by the US House of Representatives before tens of thousands of votes were even counted. Yes, the Senate can override the actual election results, or pre-empt the real results, and pre-emptively install a candidate based on a media prediction, or a bunch of unofficial tallies, or whatever they want. It can be done. It has been done. And if the media calls the race for Coakley, expect to see it done again.

If the race is "called" for Republican Scott Brown, expect to see a rush from Republican lawyers to claim that Brown has the right to vote immediately, instead of Paul Kirk who is current interim successor to Ted Kennedy. If that fails, look for an attempt to force abstention on the Massachusetts vote while stall tactics play out.

Sixty votes are needed. If Coakley is called and installed, they've got the 60. If Brown is called and stalled, they've got 59. Either way, the media "call" on Massachusetts is going to be under exceptional political pressure.

No matter where you stand on the controversial healthcare bill, be aware that what you see reported on Election Night is not only not "official" or "final", but is not even..."
