and as I said in my post, even if he was chanting continually for the home team, he is still disturbing the other fans, and should be told to be quiet threatened with removal (which may or may not have happened in this case).

I've been to sporting events, too, an if there was a guy next to me continually yelling a constant chant, I would hope stadium staff would tell him to quiet down, or I would politely do so myself.

If this guy was doing this chant for an extended period of time, it definitely would NOT be normal fan behavior.

Total and complete hogwash. Period! Have you ever gone to an NFL game? I have owned season tickets for the Seahawks for a decade now. when I go to games it is LOUD the entire time from kickoff to the final whistle. You go to YELL! You go to ROOT for YOUR team!

I have a friend in my section of 5 seats I own that literally shouts from the first kick to that final whistle. He can't talk on our way home and that's fine.

This is a case of a fan who either PAID GOOD MONEY and FLEW to this game from New York, or was a transplant and STILL paid good money to go.

The only thing I saw wrong, which is biased because it was edited, is that the idiot resisted the officers. If he would have just gone with them quietly he could have come back and watched his team win. But he fought and ended up in jail.

The other guy to go was NOT ejected from the game like someone else stated. The officer said let's talk outside. Meaning outside of the stadium seating area, not the field. That guy was probably let back in after giving his story.

You see, it's not wrong to yell and scream at these events. That's why they are held outdoors. That's why they have 70k seats plus. They WANT people to yell.

My suspician is that this idiot got drunk and a bit obnoxious. That's probably why he got into trouble. Not because he was chanting like the short clip showed.

Then you haven't been to a REAL NFL game. Period. You go to New York and that's all you hear throughout the entire game. J E T S JETS JETS JETS!

Again, in Seattle you get this all of the time too. Hell, you have to stand the entire game just to see. Why? Because everyone ahead of you is standing. Is that wrong? Well, don't answer. In your book it probably is. You should sit in your seat and cheer only when a play is made.

Sorry, but that's not how this game works. In Seattle the cheers get so loud for so long that you can scream at the guy next to you as loud as you can and you or they can't hear a dang word you're saying. That's just how it is. And that's WELL BEYOND cheering.

Like some others have said. Stay home and watch it in your comfy quiet livingroom if constant shouting by a single fan will bother you. But they paid to go and it's NOT against the rules established by the owners. PERIOD.

You're right -- Fans do yell. I yell.

I DO scream and yell at a football game -- I also take some time to talk to the person I went with (usually my daughter), watch the game, eat my hot dog, drink a beer, and breathe.

However, If I was next to a guy who was standing up chanting the same chant for, say, 20 minutes continuously without stopping, THAT would get annoying.

I'm not saying that's what this guy did -- we can't tell from this very short video. HOWEVER, if that was the case, and a fan (even at Jets' home game at Giants Stadium) was chanting "Jets Jets Jets" continuously without stopping for a long period of time, I would be annoyed. Very annoyed.

As for the heavyset cop, do you really get your kicks out of making fun of his weight? I am sure your a lean mean ripped machine, but when will people seriously grow up. Or let me guess, is it just because he is a cop and since you don't like cops it's ok to make fun of him ANYWAY possible!

Thats all well and good, but he WAS arrested. Do you get you're kicks by calling the guy a turd? The guy can cheer his damn team (is supposed to be able) and you hate it for some reason. Fact is, the guy may now lose his job, relationships and face overwhelming financial loss depending on the charges.

Sorry bud, but I just don't think football is your thing then. Basically you're saying you get annoyed b/c someone chants something constantly and for long periods of time.

Well that's the way the game is. People are paying good money to go there and scream their butts off for 4 hours while their team tries to tear the other team apart.

That's why, when I go to games, I get sh-t hammered in the parking lot starting at 10 am, scream the most obnoxious things I can think of (no cursing included) and taunt every opposing fan I can with my friends. THAT'S FOOTBALL. I get my money's worth. We eat and drink all day long until game time and then go in there as rowdy and wild as we can, painted in green. THAT'S WHY I go to games...to heckle opposing fans, to scream at Tony Romo, to sing the Eagles fight song 85 times a game, to chant E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES until i feel my throat getting raw...it's ALL PART OF THE EXPERIENCE.

Seriously, if you don't like it, you don't have to attend. Football is not exactly "family friendly" and respectful all the time, and that's the way it is. You just seem like a very easily annoyed person, and luckily, whatever team you root for probably has fans who aren't exactly "wild".

I know that. What I am trying to say is that you said they should be threatened with removal from the game. I understand that it would bother you but it's not you who should make the call.

I probably came on stronger than I meant to only because I have seen people removed from games. I have even seen three of the tasered because they were that stupid. But in most cases they were not just shouting. They were throwing crap at other fans, being aggressive with finger pointing and name calling.

That is unacceptable behavior. But chanting at a game is what happens. To be frank, it simply doesn't matter if it annoys you. As long as the person isn't threatening you.

Again, I can't tell how long this guy was making this continuous chant...

...but I have NEVER seen someone chant continuously (i.e., not stopping -- doing nothing but chanting, and chanting, and chanting) at a football game for more than 15 minutes without someone (usually a fan, but sometimes the stadium staff) asking the guy to cool it a bit and just "breathe".

Like I said, I yell at football games. I do join in on the "Here we go Steelers, here way go" chant. But I also stop sometimes.

Each of the other "normal" fans in the stadium also stop from time-to-time.

NO NORMAL FAN is constantly...continuously...without stopping...even for for a moment, chanting the same words over and over and over and over and over and over and over again.

Yes of course normal people cannot continuously yell throughout the ENTIRE game...they do need to breathe. But if you think 10 or 15 minutes of straight chanting is annoying, you're crazy. I can't even begin to tell you how many times my friends and I have INCITED the 15 minutes of incessant cheers/chants.

We're beating a dead horse at this point. I get your point that it's annoying to hear the same thing over and over for a prolonged period of time. That's fine and that's your preference. You think it's annoying and rude, and to me on the other hand, it's music to my ears to hear the fight song and EAGLES chant as many times as humanly possible throughout the course of the game.

If the video was edited and he did in fact deserve to be arrested for whatever it was that he did during the edit, then why are the San Diego fans that were sitting right there saying that he didn't do anything? If they were annoyed with an opposing fan, and he deserved to be escorted out or arrested, they would have clapped or stood there quietly to observe.

The problem is once they start arresting somebody, no matter what, they think they have to go through with whole ordeal (handcuffs, dragging you out), even when they're told by the other fans that he didn't deserve it.

The tape started with the arrest starting what happened minutes up to that the tape appears to be edited right before the arrest?

But if he did do nothing wrong, those people inches away all around are scumbags for letting it happen, if he is innocent. 3 cops surrounded by thousands of fans stand up for whats right

he was standing in the wrong sector , chanting / cheering was probobly row 84 section f.

non-stop for 15 minutes or more, then you are a better man than I am.

HOWEVER, like I said before, I don't think the man should have been removed from the stadium, unless there is more to this particular episode that we have not seen.

Well you said it yourself.

It really comes down to dedication in this one. If you LOVE your team, you'll put up with anything. If you think a few fans screaming something for 15 minutes is rough, what are your thoughts on sitting in negative temperatures so bundled up the only thing exposed are your eyes so you can see the game?

You seem like a level-headed individual, but not much of a sports fan...

I was joking dude...so chillax.I was joking in the sense that I'm a fan of a rival team. I have better things to do than pop tires and stuff like that. I just really dislike the Jets. Sorry if I upset anyone, again...JUST JOKING!!!!

Actually I could careless who you are cheering for, as long as you paid to be there like everyone else, although there are rules and he obviously wasn't following them or something else happened, we will never know.

When I was stationed in San Diego, sometime around 2000, I was asked to work security at a Chargers game. (Marines regularly pick up these shifts due to their abilities, and their need for money, lol)
It so happens that I am a HUGE Denver Broncos fan, and this was the match-up in question.
Long story short?
A fan had me fired for cheering the Broncos, instead of the Chargers (or no team at all), which resulted in some fans even spitting on me.
Was I cheering like an idiot? No.
Was I out of control or disrespectful? No.
Actually, it was a mild fist pump that was seen by a season ticket holder.

My point? San Diego fans are quite sensitive about the fact that they can't sell out there games to San Diego fans, and instead end up with many visiting fans who oppose the home team.
They are, and I can say from many visits to Qualcomm Stadium, the epitome of spoiled and childish fans.

This is not New World Order, just sad pathetic people with thin skins.

At 53 sec.s in the guy in front of the oredeal turning around saying "he didnt do anything" says "some one threw something at him, he didnt do anything"

sounds like some one pointed out the wrong guy maybe an opposing fan. or he threw stuff back... who knows

The video just leads into the arrest so I can't really speak on behalf or against the man. The guy should have the right to cheer his team on though. That's why we go to the games, to cheer our team on. Yes, it may be loud and annoying but what do you seriously expect going to a game? A nice quiet picnic? Common, let's be honest. Sporting events, especially football games, is where you want to be if you want to have a loud, rowdy, good time. I know that's what my friends and I do when we attend. It's part of the atmosphere, what makes it so great to be there in the first place. Unless you're at a Dodgers game surrounded by 50 million cholos. In that case you just mind your own business and drink after the game.
