In a situation like this you must assume that all manner of contamination are possible. Everything from water contamination to individuals who have
been infected through wounds, individuals who made contact with the bodily fluids of the injured without protection, airborne viruses like the flu,
and diseases from rotting food. This includes:
Cholera, influenza, auto-immune diseases(including AIDS), sepsis, Dysentery, Tetanus, Pneumonia, E. Coli, Polio, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, and
possibly new diseases yet to be endured in the wake of such devastation.
Many of these diseases may be augmented and mutated by severe malnutrition and a lack of proper medical care. It would be possible for certain people
to be infected with one or more of these diseases and with no help in sight, may infect others with possibly new strains of existing diseases or brand
new diseases.
Haiti is a place with much biodiversity, we are talking the Caribbean here. It would be very difficult to assess the sorts of pathogens one might
encounter in a situation like this.
