Source? Or is that just you opinion?

I can come on here stating whatever I want and base it on "scientists have said..." or "my granny's dog said..."

That doesn't make it right...

If you don't believe, go to Glacier National Park in the States, go to the Maldives, Bangladesh, Greenland, the North Pole, the Sahara desert that expands by over a mile per year due to draughts, and and and...open your eyes instead of believing what industry funded interest groups spoon feed you.

How do you explain the extreme Cold we've been having? I've read that the antartic Ice has increased.

Climate change is complex. It doesn't have to get warmer everywhere at the same time.

Regarding the antactic ice increasing...accordin to NewScientist you are wrong.

this I agree with wholeheartedly.

Al Gore’s Oligarchy

The history of the Gore family and Occidental Petroleum have been intertwined for generations. Al Gore Sr. was such a loyal political ally that Occidental’s founder and longtime CEO, Armand Hammer, liked to say that he had Gore “in my back pocket.” When Gore Sr. left the Senate in 1970, Hammer gave him a half a million dollar a year job at an Occidental subsidiary and a seat on the company’s board of directors. Money from Occidental and its subsidiaries formed the basis of the Gore family fortune.

But it is not only the land of Indigenous Colombians that Occidental is drilling against the wishes of the residents and indigenous inhabitants. In late 1997, Al Gore supported the federal government’s three and a half billion dollar sale of the Elk Hills oil field in Bakersfield, California, to Occidental Petroleum. This was the largest privatization of federal property in US history. Occidental’s plans to drill for oil in Elk Hills will disturb traditional burial sites for the Yokuts indigenous peoples of southern California. At stake are at least 100 ancient sites in the Buena Vista Lake region where Yokuts peoples once lived.

IPCC wins the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize with contributions from external experts The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) prepares periodic climate assessments on science, impacts and adaptation, and mitigation based on the contributions of several hundred expert authors nominated by governments. The majority of experts work in academia and government labs, but a handful work in business, including Haroon Kheshgi and Brian Flannery from ExxonMobil. Over the years, they have contributed to three IPCC assessments and two special reports and have served as review editors for IPCC publications. The valuable contributions of these experts were recognized, when the IPCC received the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize.

In my opinion these scientist are nothing more than scam artists because they share data with each to see how they can massage the data to meet a preconceived conclusion, then hide it from "real" scientists that are skeptical.

Words fail me. How you have managed to twist a screw up by a handful of political and NOT scientific individuals as "proof" of fabrication by tens of thousands of dedicated scientific professionals is quite simply obscene.

Shame on you all.

This world is screwed because of narrow minded dishonest people like you.

PEOPLE MAKE MISTAKES. SOME ADMIT TO THEM (as the UN/IPCC clearly is doing so otherwise you would not know about it DUH let me repeat for the skeptics with an IQ < 10 DUH DUH DUH).

Please put down the kool-aid cup with the AGW label on it now and step away from the table. Now turn around and walk away.

Your sanity and reason can still be saved if you do exactly as I say and do it now.

So pretty much you believe that the people wo will lose their land and homes due to the climate change are colateral damage of our society and it's a price we should be willing to pay?

How do you intend on replacing the natural lungs of the earth with dieing forests and coral reefs?

Would you be fine if we could replace all our natural resources with some sort of "bio mass"? Must be a stunning world you're dreaming of

I am NOT a fan of carbon taxes, they are not a solution. But there's other ways that work and even increase profitability of businesses and therefore the lives of people.

We need to start looking beyond our small horizon and think about the billions of people that will starve, and die of thirst thanks to our actions.

And why? Just because some idiots want to drive Hummers and offroad vehicles in friggin downtown NYC.

Before you start talking about that's your right...yes it is, but consider the lives it costs in other parts of the world. It's easy to insist on driving overpowered offroad vehicles in locations where it's nothing but a status symbol, or overfishing the seas, or buying furniture made of rainforest wood if you are ignorant and don't consider the consequences.

How do you intend to cope with facts like these?

@Donkey: Do you have a source for that picture you posted?

I pretty much believe that if such a thing becomes necessary due to natural climate change, that the world - led once again by the U.S. - will do the best the can to help people that have waited too long to decide on their own to re-settle.

How do you intend on replacing the natural lungs of the earth with dieing forests and coral reefs?

I plan to wait for the natural forces of evolution and survival of the fittest act to see what should survive and what shouldn't - as has happened from the beginning of time.

Would you be fine if we could replace all our natural resources with some sort of "bio mass"? Must be a stunning world you're dreaming of

I'm not the gullible dreamer here.

Such as?

We need to start looking beyond our small horizon and think about the billions of people that will starve, and die of thirst thanks to our actions.

It is the eco-nazis that would move us all technologically backward to the point where we can no longer produce the food we do that will cause the starvation you speak of.

And why? Just because some idiots want to drive Hummers and offroad vehicles in friggin downtown NYC.

If they want to pay the extra costs to purchase, insure and buy fuel for something out of place like that, it is their choice, not yours. And in reality, there are not enough people doing that to matter one way or another. But you sound like one of those elitists that know best for all the rest of us.

I actually live out in the country where an SUV or pickup truck makes more sense than a small car the would force me to burn extra fuel making multiple trips, or having to hire a truck using even more fuel. Get it?

Face it Man, You got scammed. Don't feel bad, the AGW crowd fooled lots of people that are way more intelligent than you or I. These things happen. Learn from it and move on.
You don't have to stop caring about the environment. Now you can focus on real issues.

- That or you can continue to demonstrate your foolishness by debating those of us that weren't fooled by this scam.

What?

You obviously read the previous bunch of climate "facts" and still believe them even though they've admitted lying about them.

And who said anything about re-settling anyone here? All eco-nazis should be thrilled at the possibility of human population reduction - however it comes about.

Except for illegal deforestation the Earth has gotten GREENER thanks to the small increase in atmospheric CO2....

On another note, the Earth has had higher levels of atmospheric CO2 and "coral reefs and forests" didn't die...in fact it has been shown tons of times in these same forums that increased atmospheric CO2 is beneficial to Earth and all living things.

Actually, people like you are the dreamers if you think you, or anyone else can control Climate Change.... You can't control it...and we have evidence that the AGW proponents had to rig the data, hide real data, and use other underhanded tactics to keep the AGW religion alive, which obviously you want to keep believing despite the fact that there is no evidence to back the lies of AGW.

Well, what the AGW proponents, and the Socialist elites want to do is to sequester atmospheric CO2 and this will certainly starve billions of people, because with less atmospheric CO2 there are less harvests which means less food for people... and in case you didn't know we have several documents which attest to the fact that the Socialist elites want to depopulate the Earth using AGW as one of several tactics...

So despite the fact that there is no evidence whatsoever that CO2 is the cause for Climate Change, and after being found that the IPCC has been using erroneous, i would actually say they rigged the data, and after finding the fact that the main AGW scientists where found to have been hiding data, destroying data that refutes their AGW claim, and other underhanded tactics to keep their religion alive, you still want to believe the lie that CO2 is the problem?....

...... See...this is the problem some people have... That link you gave has NOTHING to do with the AGW claims....

That link is about the claims that mankind is overfishing in different areas. Although there is some truth to it, it has NOTHING to do with the AGW claim...

With everything we have found out that the AGW scientists have been lying, and they have been rigging the data to keep their AGW religion alive, and the fact that environmental groups jumped in the bandwagon and are still advocating the lies of AGW, there is a real possibility that they are also exagerating about the over fishing claims.

Yes the picture is compiled directly from the vostok ice core data. Look for yourself please! I personally think that more than anything the vostok data just shows how inaccurate ice core data can be.

The concept of letting pristine environments perish in place of regulated systems is not my idea, you may think it is impossible but it is not at all. In fact it is the only hope humankind has for a long term survival. I know it is about as politically correct as calling Hitler a saint, but it is what it is. How would you envision the human species enduring the test of time?

My point was to say that we should be focused on the technology to manage our environment rather than basing our future on a doomed ecosystem. Don’t get me wrong here, we must protect our environment or face obvious calamities. The things that we depend on are however very fragile and are in fact doomed to fail with or without humans in the mix. With an ever increasing human population I would say we will destroy the balance we depend on before anything else will. It doesn’t matter though because 98% of all species that have ever existed are now extinct because we are basically on cycle of destruction and reconstitution. If the human species wants to survive then the technology needed to survive will be required. Managing our oceans, climate and atmosphere are just three things in a list of thousands.

Envision Humankind thousands of years from now with the technology to keep Ocean waters at determined quality levels etc etc etc. Humankind can either stay in the dirt or truly master our environment to which end will lead to the mastering of space and time etc. I love nature too, but it’s a falsity to think that the current systems will survive the test of time.

We do posses the technology to farm the oceans and completely control atmospheric C02 levels etc. right now. The increased bio mass would be sufficient to cover our energy needs right now. Yes, it would be to the detriment of many many species and the I imagine the quality of our environment. It would however put mankind on a path to survival. Hardship is the father of all things. It is not by the principles of humanity that man lives or is able to preserve himself above the animal world, but solely by means of the most brutal struggle.

To argue that the natural environment will see us through millennium is to argue that by placing a gun in your mouth and pulling the trigger one might survive so long as the primer did not ignite. Of course we need our current ecosystems, but they will let us down without question. The only real option is one of complete control. I know it is tough to swallow friend! It is not something you need to worry about in your life time though. These choices will be required of future humans. I for one hope they make the right choice.

On that note have you ever seen The Privileged Planet
veehd.com/video/2485158_The-Privileged-Planet-2004-An-LVStudio-Documentary

This documentary might help shed some light on the right choices. I like to think that it is our destiny to be masters of the universe. I believe that this conduct is in accordance with the will of our designer.
