that doesn't redeem Gibbs, Gibbs is still "stupid" in my book.

If Pat Robertson came out and said the Earthquake in Haiti , along with other recent Global Climatic events , were caused by a Secret World Goverments attempt to depopulate the Earth using Tecnologies simular to HAARP , then I might possibly Believe him . This though , is just to Crazy to even consider ........

This White House believes that everyone that doesn't agree with their agenda is stupid and dangerous.

BTW did anyone ask the White House to comment on Danny Glover's remarks? If they would have, there would have been no comment I guarantee that. It's only stupid if it doesn't fit their agenda.

I know in this world of political correctness and generally secular thinking it is unbecoming of anyone to suggest that there are actual spiritual forces helping to shape humanity's history, but if you take the time to actually look into it, you will see that Robertson was indeed speaking from a place of historical fact. Whether Haiti's "pact with the devil" was actually responsible for the current devastation or not is only anyone's guess. That is his opinion, based on a belief that the devil can indeed cause people or nations to be troubled. Here are some historical references of Haiti's "voodoo" past:

A pig, which symbolized the wild, free, and untamable spiritual power of the forest and the ancestors, was sacrificed, an oath was taken, and Boukman and the priestess exhorted the listeners to take vengeance against their oppressors and "[c]ast aside the image of the God of the whites."[3] According to the Encyclopedia of African Religion, "Blood from the animal, and some say from humans as well, was given in a drink to the attendees to seal their fates in loyalty to the cause of liberation of Sainte-Domingue."[4] A week later, 1800 plantations had been destroyed and 1000 slaveholders killed.

For those who don't know what Voodoo actually is, here is a little primer on how to make a zombie:

It's interesting to note that the headquarters for Voodoo in the United States was/is... New Orleans... makes one wonder, doesn't it?

SHAME ON EVERY DAMN ONE OF YOU!!! An entire nation is DEVASTATED, TENS of THOUSANDS DEAD, thousands more still trapped in the rubble, and you Jackholes actually support what Robertson said??? This is exactly what is giving Christians and Christianity a bad name!!! This is what makes me fight against this BS religion with everything I've got!!! You say crap like this, then pat yourselves on the back and call yourselves Good Christians!!! Bull Hockey!!!

Only people like you could witness a natural tragedy like this one and find a way to blame the victims!!! If there is a Hell, I hope that there is a special place reserved for the likes of YOU! YOU MAKE ME SICK!!!

And I would like to say Well Done to the Obama Administration and to Robert Gibbs for recongnizing stupidity when they see it. I think Robertson got off light. There should have been a volley of four letter words sent his way, but that wouldn't be a politically smart move...

What a little tempest in a teapot you are...

Such hate and compassion in the same post turned on and off like the flick of a switch.

Why do people get upset about what someone like Pat Robertson says? I don't know a single person that would say they support or listen to him or that he represents them.

Its more of an opportunity to attack Christianity than anything Pat has to say that has people like you frothing at the mouth.

Robertson's comment was stupid, the Obama Administration said so and there is no single group of people who know more about "stupid" than that group. Must be true.

Wow. If anybody with a brain needs proof of how destructive and downright evil organized religion has become, Robertson's comments and many of the comments on this thread are smoking guns. I would say it's the number one problem facing humanity as a whole, it's a cancer. There really are no more words to describe the hypocrisy, cruelty, and ignorance of these religious extremists. Nothing but festering pieces of fecal matter, and that's putting it nicely.

To the people of Haiti, although they're often the loudest, morons making spectacles of themselves, these people in no way represent the majority of the U.S. Our thoughts are with you in this time of human need.

Wow, what a stupid thing to say Gibbs. Of course he has never said anything wrong nor has anyone in the White House because we all know they're perfect. C'mon people if you bother to study history you'll find that Robertson is very much correct. That however also goes for many people around the world and it was kind of wrong for him to say that at a time like this but, really I can think of many other evangelists who've said much worse and seem to look like angels.

I think the point is to be a Christain - lives as Christ taught and lived...

This man claimed to be an ambassador to these teaching, unfortunately the senile a$$ simp must have gotten his holy book mixed up with the unholy book some 50 years ago...

Dude, Robertson is an ignorant fool. Doesn't matter if he's Christian or not. Thousands of ppl died in Haiti, and his remark was beyond tasteless.

For me he's like someone who would have said "that's what they get for not being Christian" when talking about the holocaust...

For all I care, Robterson should have been at the epicenter of the earthquake! He's nothing but a biggot closet-racist...

If Jesus were alive today, do you think he'd agree with Robertson??? If you answer is no, then you agree that Robertson following a very very perverted version of Christianity.

why is it that when a disaster hits a poor nation there's always some fatcat idiot from the most rich nation on the planet who's never lived a day in a slum saying 'yeah they had that coming for a looong time'

these people had a terrible life before this disaster and now the little bit they had was taken away from them and a Christian reverend is rooting for the quake! how about some good all christian mercy and compassion???

how about turning it around and saying instead 'God has gifted the USA so that it can rebuild Haiti after the quake'
too bad there's too much hatred among those who believe in god's word - no matter which book they read or who their alleged prophet was.

This just in... White House declares that bread is food and Bill Clinton is into fat chics.
That is all.

He said the whole country was cursed for making a deal with Satan.
That is the very definition of stupid.

If Obama saved a baby from a burning building you'd complain that he kept that poor child out of heaven and away from Jeebuz.

Bat-sh1t-crazy-orama continues spinning out of control.

Pat Robertson is a deluded old fool who displays none of the Christian virtues he supposedly ascribes to. Wait until the Devil executes the contract he has with Pat.

The comments were stupid, but I also find it stupid that the whitehouse seems to be able to make a comment the day after this little thing but the president couldnt seem to make a comment over the attempted Dec. 25th underware bombing for 3 days because he and his family were too busy playing tennis and eating shaved ice while on vacation.
