Why not just donate the 100m in aid to the Red Cross or Peace Corp. They are the professionals and know how to squeeze every last drop out of a dollar. After the government is done with the show of military jets, bureaucratic red tape, and hoopla those people will only see about 30 cents of every dollar.

Let the people who can really help do the job instead of this pitiful farce for political show.

I'm sure that would be vastly more effective. But Obama is not concerned about doing things that actually work. He is concerned about exerting absolute authority over others, at any price. The Red Cross would likely never donate money to Obama, so you can just forget about it.

You know that thing Obama has that looks like a trash can and is marked "Ideas"... thats where he would like you to submit your unquestionably good idea.

An excellent idea. However, let's stop for a moment and put this in perspective...

$100 million is:

* 0.014% of the $700 billion 2008 Wall Street bailout package.
* 0.003% of the $3.3 trillion that allegedly went "missing" from the Treasury
* 0.0008% of the $12.2 trillion "official" national debt
* 0.00001% of the estimated $100 trillion in so-called "unfunded liabilites" of the U.S. Government.

Given all that, the whole thing seems spit in the wind, doesn't it?
