Here's a thought ... and I apply most of the following as much to the UK government as the US government.

Get the hell out of Afghanistan
Get the hell out of Iraq
Close all your overseas bases
Stop interfering in other countries' affairs
Stop giving Israel any more money
Stop spending money you haven't got
Stop using your military for anything else other than to defend the US/UK from invasion

and...

Start living within your means
Start paying back the money you've borrowed
Start looking after your sick
Start looking after your poor
Start spending money on your infrastructure
Start looking after the nation

...oh, and grow up... It's 2010, not 1910

Incidentally, this meant as a dig to the US/UK governments ... not the OP or any other posters here
