Hello, everyone. I've been a long time ATS reader and feel that it's time for me to join the community.

The Haiti earthquake has had me real worried about the countries on the Caribbean plate. The reason is because IRIS Seismic Monitor is showing 38 aftershocks. Haiti has been having seismic activities for more than 24 hours now. I've been asking myself all day, is the Caribbean plate in danger of falling apart?

Here's the quake list I'm refering to: Seismic Monitor Events List Window

Also notice how all but one quake are registered at a depth of 10.0 km. Is that common?

What are the statistics for earthquakes in that region? I had heard something about Haiti not having been hit by one in over 200 years? The earth is changing no doubt.

Yeah, somethings falling apart...
I think it started back with the Big Tsunami in 05...

This is what happens when the Earth is drastically altered, and I mean by the Global Warming, melting of the Ice Caps, all that Ice Displaced weight moving around putting pressures on different areas, and the Volcano where was that?

Plus Yellow Stone National Park active?

And Earthquakes in California a week ago?
And Earhtquake in Mexico hours ago?

Your on to something, and it's good you joined up, the more people that can input information the better, plus it's good when people can post information from all different time zones and etc...

I wondered earlier if it was related to the Montserrat's Soufriere Hills volcano. No one commented on that idea. I was dormant until reawakening in the mid 1990s. Then on the 11th, it erupted and the ash was a problem in Puerto Rico. It's only 320 miles away. Haiti can be seen from PR on a clear day. You may be right the whole area may be imploding. Ten km is very shallow. That's one reason it was so destructive. I don't know how common shallow 7.0's are, but it seems that usually quakes are fairly deep.

I don't know if this has been posted yet or not, but apparently Westboro Baptist Church has weighed in on the earthquake in Haiti.

How long before someone blows up what ever is at the address listed on that link? I hope it is soon.

I am struck with such deep sense of grief...I am sad and I am beyond despondent for what I have read, heard and seen.

These are people...HUMAN BEINGS!!!!! They feel the same exact feelings that we do. They feel love. They love their children, they love their sisters and brothers...their parents and grandparents. They LOVE...just as we do....They also HATE just as we do but, at this point does it really matt4er. Lets focus on the fact that an entire civilization is in need right now.

They feel pain just as we do. They feel sadness...the sadness of losing. They, all too well, understand the misery of losing a loved one. Losing a Child, Losing a Parent, Losing a Sibling. They understand Loss.

Lets focus on trying to help take away some of their pain as best as we know how.

Yesterday there was a 4.8 - 1200 miles North of Iceland or on the Svalbard Area , that one was at 10 km depth as well.

The one in Mexico was at 35 km.

Here in Iceland we are sitting on top of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge , it splits the country pretty much in half. I have actually stood at both plates at once...sort of. The actual line is 20 km from the Capitol Reykjavik.

There has been talk about smaller tremors under one of our glaciers, also some talk that the Hekla volcano might erupt. These places are located at or near where the North and South America Plates divide from the Eurasian and African Plates

That is a complete list of the Haitian earthquakes, courtesy of the USGS. I put them in order of oldest on top to newest on the bottom. Though there have been updates to the aftershocks in this thread, no one yet has put this together as one list.

Also, does anyone know where I can find information about earthquakes from Haiti with a magnitude of less than 4.5?

I brought up before in this thread, the question of where is all of the debris going to go? How are the bodies going to be disposed of before they become rotten?

My thoughts are the debris could be pushed into the sea to create some new land. Just like NYC and San Fran did. [they used garbage] Maybe they could just rebuild on top of the debris, like in some of cities with backgrounds running for thousands of years.

The bodies... well, there is no PC way around this. They need to be burned, or to be placed in mass graves. I know it seems to be a disgusting route to take. What else can realistically be done? other than let them rot in the streets.

ETA: I don't hate the Haitians. I don't want their lost loved ones to be defiled in death. I suggested burning the bodies for the benefit of the living.

That church is notorious for horrible stuff like this. I think they went after gay, war heros, Jews, and stomping the American Flag. They say they are independent Baptist, but I have been independent Baptist for 40 years. I have never heard that kind of hate speech from any church I've attended. They give us a bad name. Its a free country and they can say it, but they won't have much to say when they meet God. He will not be pleased with thier unloving, unChristian, and unAmerican stance toward those less fortunate and in need of our help. What goes around, comes around - God owes them big time.

I want to take a moment to again thank everyone for helping to keep this thread informative and on the most part, on topic.

Again I will offer what was offered before: With so much info coming out so quickly, it becomes difficult to make all the updates within interest. If anyone would like specific info that they cannot find, or has not been posted here, please do ask here, I, and others living in this thread will do our best to help get the news you need.

By the way, "10 Km" is the generic depth USGS uses for shallow earthquakes which haven't been or cannot be located more precisely.

Fantastic clarification. That is something that I did not know or see mentioned in this thread as of yet. It helps to debunk the HAARPers saying that this is a disaster caused by man.

hello, and thank you all,iv,e been following ats for a couple of months now and i find it very interesting and at times entertaining.this is my first post so i guess i will never forget it!ok its obvious we have some clowns on board ,this thread has been more informative and helpful than anywhere i,ve seen .....its nice to see how people care so much, because outside,to listen to some people speak and go on about there lives like this earthquake was a movie they saw last night is pretty sick if you ask me.i just realized this 10 mins ago when i spoke to my dad[63] who is really upset and feels for these people like i do.....now some dont care...why?....i'll tell you why ,because this happened where it did.IT does not matter where folks, this is not their tragedy folks this ours ,all of ours and we should pause for a few moments and think about this...........now for you clowns who think you are being funny, you are not you are scum...peace and goodness i wishh for you all even the clowns

I am horrified with some of the morons that are making posts on this topic..

I have high standards i come here looking for intellects, to discuss things that are unexplainable, due to one of our instincts in nature we were not given.. Why are we here and what for, and why do things like Haiti, occur. Not stupid bullcrap, about some magical harp program, giving man a big undeserved godlike presence on this earth.. Point and Case, This is Mothernature, God or the unexplained that did this Not man.. LOL...

I think we need some more mentally balanced men and women, moderating these Normal venues of post, as oppose to the fairy tale sections..

Unless well ATS, wants the respect of morons posting fairy tale bs.. On a Alternative news venue that some normal people come to, to get the real news..

I'd like to point out something I noticed on Google Earth while tracking the quakes. They seem to be moving along from Haiti to Mexico to Central Alaska and then west along the boundary. There was just a 4.9 at Near Islands. I don't know ,maybe it will show up in Russia ?

Hi whoshotJR,

Thanks for your vote of confidence whoshotJR. This thread is growing fast. I suspect that the 7.0 was the main shock, and that the subsurface is settling back into place the only way it can by having aftershocks. It will be interesting to find out if the land lifted any or if it sank any.

I have stuff on how to predict earthquakes 100% accurately anywhere in the world on YouTube:

www.youtube.com...

A 7.0 magnitude earthquake would have been detectable for a maximum distance of 600 miles visually or piezoseismically before it struck, and it could have been seen for at least hours in advance, if not days in advance using piezo-radiation visual detection of the refraction that would have existed in the sky on a 24/7 basis.

A 7.0 magnitude earthquake has tremendous pressure, and that tremendous pressure would have been detected piezoseismically in the 32nd range for probably over 150 miles away from the epicenter. Somewhere after that it would have started dropping down through the other ranges, down to the 1st Range and then finally out further into background radiation range where there is basically no earthquake activity detectable, or at least it is at an extreme distance.

The 32nd range has so much pressure that trains do not even create that much pressure when you have the piezoseismic equipment right beside the railroad tracks while the biggest and heaviest of trains is thundering through.

Imagine the pressure being greater from that 7.0 magnitude earthquake that is over 150 miles away from you than if you were standing right beside a thundering train plowing past you on uneven tracks.

To get into the 32nd range takes a lot of pressure and trains don't create that much pressure on the ground.

The pressure is detected force against strata. The greater the force, the greater the radiation. Radiation spreads out evenly across and above the faults under pressure and it is seen in the sky as a refraction.

Here is a video of the refraction of the 2008 Sichuan, China 7.9 magnitude earthquake that killed over 68,000 people.

www.youtube.com...

These refractions are detectable with the proper equipment for days and weeks before they strike, and upto a day and a half after they strike.

I'm still wondering if California is going to have a "Great Earthquake" this year since lots of people claimed to have found it after reading the book, "The Bible Codes".

We are getting closer and closer to the Galactic Equator, and the Earth will have to compensate for passing through that Galactic Equator, just as Hurricanes have to compensate for passing through the Earth's Equator. Huricanes change direction of spin.

I suspect that since the Chandlers Wobble of the Earth will come to a complete stop on December 21, 2012 the same day that the Earth will pass through the Galactic Equator, that the Earth will tilt or rotate just a little changing the bulg of the equator to a slightly different area; meaning many massive earthquakes with different lands rising and sinking dramatically.

Apparently two different tectonic plates meet under Port-Au-Prince. The Caribbean plate's fault line causes slip-strike movement and the the North American plate's fault line causes subduction.

This page has a good image of how the plates meet up:
