Everyone is Ignorant to some extent. No human being is all knowing. Some human beings have great ideas of how things work.

And I personally know some of the smartest men on the planet, and they still miss certain things, just as I and we all do.

We all try our best and that is all we can do.

I don’t understand how “the term "State" has the same meaning” as “the term terrorism”??

I asked my Dad who's a lawyer. He said that you weren't looking at section 2 of paragraph 15.

"(ii) is a violation of the criminal laws of the United States or of any State or other subdivision of the United States"

That's where it defines "state".. And not the definition of "terrorism".

Sorry, they didn't mess up

I'm sorry but you have got to be joking. I'm not saying your dad isn't a lawyer, and I certainly am NOT a lawyer, but the EO clearly states that the meaning of State is:

the meaning provided in paragraph (15) of section 2 of the Homeland Security Act of 2002(6 U.S.C. 101(15))

6 USC 101 is entitled "Sec. 2. Definitions." The meaning of state is defined by (6 USC 101(15)), which implies the entire 15th paragraph. Even if you were right about it defining States as Sec ii, it wouldn't work because Sec ii does not provide a definition of State or States. Furthermore, it would need to reference 6 USC 101(15(A(ii)))) and it didn't. You need to ask your dad to check the paper again, and check his law degree.

What does that mean?

It means "You can't sue us, bitch."

Spot on, thats exactly what it means. It means that you can't sue the govt. employess or their actions and in turn they know that and will use the law against you.

Anytime an executive order is pushed, we should all be weary... it is not democracy.

Point... control of society in a national disaster.

CounterPoint... a gateway to control society through making up some B.S. biological scare.

I think it's another in a long line of ploys the government is using to get the upper hand of control. The fact is that the general populus is scaring the government and big business. Bush signed a few executive orders like this one when the military action in Iraq became unpopular.

It's all about control. Since these guys are lawyers and not arms dealers... they fire shots with executive orders and laws.

Yeah you have a good idea of how the system works. They love using words and paper to infiltrate countries and kill millions of people, they did it in Ukrain (i think thats how you spell it lol).

It looks like they are slowly yet surely working on America...

the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico,
the Virgin Islands, Guam, American Samoa, the Commonwealth
of the Northern Mariana Islands, and any possession of the
United States."

This is a good thing! A very good thing!

The ten regions are defined by FEMA. Just google for the FEMA region map.

"Ten Horns will hate the harlot and make her desolate...eat her flesh and burn her with fire"
Rev. 17:16

Maybe this means that the "kingdom" dominionists will not be making our national policies anymore and that lunatics like Benny Hinn and the rest of his ilk will finally get shut down.

Even if it is a typo, there has to be a reason they missed it. These people don't just mix up numbers like that with such (potentially) critical aftereffects.

Love these situations.
It's Lose-Lose for Obama, always Win-Win for the Cons.

Had he not done anything he is weak on security, if he does anything at all, even talks to someone who once made a cryptic off the cuff statement, well he is then ushering in a fascist/commie/socialist/liberal/evil state to eat everyone's babies.

Oh wait: Obama can't do anything cause he's too incompetent.
Er... Obama does everything wrong because he is evil.
Er... Obama is too weak politically because he panders to everyone-trying to get everyone to have their say.
Er... Obama is too partisan, he refuses to work with anyone and alienates all.
Er... Obama is racist and hates white america.
Er... Obama is a puppet.

And on and on and on.

Just wish the Cons and their supporters would get their propaganda machine all pointed in the same direction instead of this boiler plate-trying to find crap that sticks.

The President today signed an Executive Order establishing a Council of Governors to strengthen further the partnership between the Federal Government and State Governments to protect our Nation against all types of hazards. When appointed, the Council will be reviewing such matters as involving the National Guard of the various States; homeland defence; civil support; synchronization and integration of State and Federal military activities in the United States; and other matters of mutual interest pertaining to National Guard, homeland defence, and civil support activities.
The bipartisan Council will be composed of Ten State Governors who will be selected by the President to serve two year terms."

-checks out his window to look for the red army marching down...see's only a confused dog looking back at him, sighs-

another one of "these" threads it looks like.

Where were these characters when the patriot act was being installed....I bet cheering the good move to protect us from ourselves.

Coordinating Governors to look at how he US can work in a coordinated manner in case of an emergency?

Rather than ominous -- it sounds like making our multi-trillion dollars spent on defense be something besides a HUGE waste of time and resources.

If Obama ever does something really evil, I won't notice it, because I will have been burned by all these applications of smoke blown up my rear end. If someone wants good government -- go after things like keeping people employed like Ben Bernanke and Chertoff. Seriously, here is enough REAL BAD STUFF going on to not have to invent this nonsense and freak out every time the "Kenya born muzlim" does something related to his job as president.

He is just another puppet just like G.W. Bush Jr.

Most presidents are, except JFK, Abe Lincoln, Andrew Jackson, Thomas Jefferson. Just the acceptions that I know of.

Thats why I don't vote.

LALL - Its a typo. But leagal wouldnt you think? Until they amend it anyway!

Ziggy - No, it may be in the text, but it is not legal if it's a typo. A typo can't be upheld in court relating to the definition of the word "state" being interchangeable with "terrorist", in the context we are discussing it .

Can someone try to? yes. Will it be remedied? Yup. It's called a reversal by a court of appeals.

If "everyone is complicit" then you don't need a law, or a trial.

I'm not sure I can really agree with that.
Though I think G.W. was manipulated by the hard core N-Cons (Wolfowitz, Cheney, Rumsfeld-who were instrumental in the propaganda war during the 1970's red scare revival) I don't think he was a puppet. I think he was naive, ignorant and entirely too faithful for his own good-I think he actually believed he was doing the right thing. Too bad it was decisions made from tainted and biased information. Had it not been for the N-Cons G.W. might have been a decent Pres. Course, we will never know.

I think that all tends to be true of all the presidents-one hand always tied behind the back. For example: Obama could not have simply pulled troops from Iraq-nor should he have. Iraq was a mess made by American policy. We are obliged to clean it up.

The big problem (and benefit) is the interdependence of the branches. If one does something the other hates, it becomes a huge stumbling block for the rest of the term.

Not voting is part of the problem though, we need everyone to vote so the slow revolution can happen. Possible over the next generation the turds will be flushed and rational pragmatism can be restored to the government. Then they can get back to their jobs of running the country instead of playing chess with propaganda on TV Outlets.

ie: If you hate the game, work to change it.

I would only follow with the Federal Reserve Bank example.
The Fed has 12 districts but has four in close proximity of each other...

When you register to vote you lose your power of your voice.

You Register and you loose your power over your straw man.

Straw Man is your corporate name. Look at your divers license and tell me is it in all caps?

If so that is your corporation and when you go into court the people you are defending yourself against, you are defending your corporation.

Voting may seem like it does something, but you either get a right wing or a left wing republican or democrat that doesn't do anything but promise things that will never happen. Obama's first promise was to shut down Gitmo. Guantanamo bay.

What happened to Ron Paul? He was the best Candidate and he got some attention and that was about it.

I hate to jump in so late in the game but I have one thing to say:

You can't give credit to Christian "prophecy" anymore than any other "prophecy". I do not believe in the Christian "God", nor "Satan" or the whole "born with sin" gag, blah blah blah. Because I don't "believe" I'm sure I'll get flamed about how I'm wrong. But can you prove if the Shinto Bhuddists are wrong, or if the Native Americans are wrong?

As a pastor's son there is one thing I've always been taught about the "end of the world": No one knows when the end will come. No one can guess it, no one knows, nada, zilch. It will happen when EVERYONE least expects it. Therefore, I do not take any stock in the end days theories.

I will have to agree with everyone saying that this is meant to strengthen the bonds between the states and the Federal government. Seems to me Obama is getting back to the roots of our government system of a Republic by representation.

Until someone with credibility or the White House themselves explains how this can be contrived as "martial law", I'm going to get back to playing Fat Princess and forget this thread even exists.

Sorry, lost me.

When you register to vote you lose your power of your voice.

Yet, I still command some degree of attention in any gathering I attend. My letters are still published in papers and I can influence conversations on forums like this. How has registering to vote cause a loss of 'voice'. Same with the 'lose power over straw man'.

I presume this is in reference to party selected nominees etc. But how does my voter registration have any positive or negative impact on these things?

Drivers license all in caps? Wha?

As for Gitmo, he has been trying. But the Con side of things has been squealing and fighting that at every front. I suspect in good part because all the things that actually went on in there will become subject to the full spotlight treatment. I have no doubt though that it will be closed once enough leverage is found.

As for Ron Paul: You will have to talk to the Cons. They galvanized the religious fundie voters who pretty much booed him off the stage whenever they got the chance. All the while they funneled millions to the "Cranky old man" and his "Beauty Pageant" cohort.

As for this 'martial law' thing. I am not seeing anything in it that allows martial law on it's own merit. Looks like a placement of a committee who would in turn act as a planning group for emergencies.

I believe Martial Law is something that is constitutionally forbidden by the U.S. Constitution anyway.
