Overpopulation needs to meet depopulation for the sake of good jobs only. Population should be regulated by number of good job positions there are. Do you think that should be?

There is no viable evidence to suggest the planet is overpopulated. Purposely depopulating the planet brings its own risks. That humans have increased their own population as they have is a sign of remarkable success not failure. Nature seems to want species to propagate and populate. Humans are remarkably successful at it...that is, until recently. There is evidence that perhaps that success is coming to a halt as more recent generations of humans are not propagating as successfully as past generations and infertility seems to be more of a problem these days.

Furthermore, the whole notion of too many people and not enough jobs is backward thinking. First, that so many people view their own viability in terms of a job, rather than creating their own business is tragic. People have a much better chance of flourishing and prospering if they are in control of their earning potential, which becomes much less potential when relying upon an employer to supply it.

Secondly, business and jobs respond to the marketplace and the marketplace responds to supply and demand. When there is any increase in the population then demands grow and change. It is how we as people respond to those demands that create new business and/or jobs.

The only depopulation we need are certain politicians and business men. After that the rest of us would be way better off.

No, there is more to life then your job/career.
I think a complete overhaul of society is in order.

I think this is the most ridiculous post of the month.. CONGRATULATIONS!

where the hell are your values ?

The entire worlds population can fit within the state of Texas. That isn't overpopulated. It's that the egos of man aren't self regulated and 3 Earths aren't large enough for half of them..

edited to give you the math
6 795 800 000 / 266 853 = 25 466.

Your link to overpopulation and jobs is not complete without introducing technology into your model.

The effect of technology is to do things bigger, better, faster, more than ever before. This brings the cost/price down but also requires fewer workers & input resources.

If you want to give a growing population full employment, then technology is your greatest enemy.

Not only do you have to create more jobs for more people, but you must fight the declining need for workers due to technology.

Good luck solving that one. In the end, technology will make us all unemployed - and THAT will be interesting.

Wihout wading too deep into an endless debate, I'll just remind people that there are unintended consequences for everything regarding this issue.
