It's official,

The world has gone ga-ga.

Sarah Palin has joined Fox News as a contributor.

She says "It's wonderful to be part of a place that so values fair and balance news."

She will periodically host episodes of Fox's 'Real American Stories' a series which looks at real-life tales due out later this year as well as be the political commentary expert for the news programs.

I realise that people are allowed to have careers beyond their political ones; and Jesse Ventura sure does, but can we really accept this rapid change from Vice-Presidential candidate to news expert so easily?

Does this gives any more value to the White Houses official stance that Fox News is politically bias?

Any and all thoughts, as always, are welcome.

And Tony Blair has signed a conract with a European handbag producer, according to UK reports

An Aussie former Prime Minister, Bob Hawke, attempted to play 'reporter' on a current-affairs show .. briefly .. after he'd finished destroying the nation. He didn't last long

Politicians prove, time after time (as can usually be verified by scrutiny of their history) that they began by wanting to be 'celebrities' and only graduated to politics when they realised they were never going to make it as actors, band members, rock stars, etc.

In almost every instance, investigation of their past reveals they held show business ambitions but were too ugly and untalented to make it. At which point they switched to 'politics' --- which, as we know, is more about show than substance, and rewards with big money, just like show business, with greater power as a bonus

Or, as Frank Zappa put it. "Politics is the entertainment arm of Industry." I'm sure this will help her out in her bid for the repub nomination. Americans love their celebrities.

"I am thrilled to be joining the great talent and management team at Fox News," Palin said in a statement. "It's wonderful to be part of a place that so values fair and balance news."

Uh huh.

Fox news just falls deeper into the "entertainment" category.

News? Bah...

What would really be funny is if MSNBC gave her a spot on the telly, or even CNN, then I'd be impressed.

If you are going to make me work for it...
I'd have to say the 1-hour time slot that is breaking news? Um, Shephard Smith, isn't it?
It's a stretch though...
Lol

I could actually see that! Would be a great PR move for one of those two and far less obvious than Fox... That could have worked!

Is she going to drop her contract halfway through?

Of course they hired her...if she were elected President...she would cut corporate taxes...as we all know Fox News is the most heavily corporate network of them all.

Well at least people will be able to hear how stupid she is on a regular basis.

It was God's will.

Exactly. It's not news, it's mis/disinformation, as this article proves:

NBC is owned by GE. Tough to get any bigger with your hands in more pots than that. News corp. is primarily in media and entertainment. What doesn't GE own? Aside from its TV holdings GE also owns

Film
Universal Pictures
Parks
Universal Parks & Resorts
Other General Electric Businesses
GE Aircraft Engines
GE Commercial Finance
GE Consumer Products
GE Industrial Systems
GE Insurance
GE Medical Systems
GE Plastics
GE Power Systems
GE Specialty Materials
GE Transportation Systems
www.cjr.org...

Edit to add:
Palin will be an excellent addition to Fox News. I guess she turned down the offer to co host The View.

Don't worry Palin haters, she is only going to be a contributor. She doesn't have her own show yet. As far as former candidates go... Mike Huckabee runs a great program with a loyal following on Fox. No one slammed him for taking the gig.

I thought this woman couldnt go any more lower, then this. I had to see it to believe... I heard people speculate this but I thought even for Palin this type of thing.... for a suppose serious value orientated presidential candidate, is virtually not possible... but there it is... in the news.

To think this woman could have become vice president of the United states. By all means she has the right to make more money and become a contributor but really, Palin by doing this just goes to show how unfit she was for the presidency. Say what you want about Obama, but this woman showed to me how low we could have gone in electing a vice president.
