Do you suffer spinal twinges when reading of Buddhist teachers shot in the back by Jihad terrorists? Are you prone to experience a slight jabbing pain in the side when hearing of another Israeli stabbed to death by the Palestinian Fedayeen? Do you get a sort of burning sensation in your sinuses upon learning of a family of Hindus forced into a house by the Mujahideen and set aflame? Is there a dry or scratchy feeling in the back of your mouth when told of a Christian getting their throat slashed by Islamists? How about old-school decapitation with a dull blade? Leave you feeling a bit light-headed?

If so, then you may have Islamophobia, a new term that literally means a fear of Islam and its strict devotees. The United Nations recently held a seminar on Islamophobia, in which the venerable Kofi Annan, stated that When the world feels compelled to coin a new term to take account of widespread bigotry this is a troubling development.

Victims of Islamophobia, when they arent whining, supposedly spend their time worrying that they might be insulted, given the finger, or detained at the airport (in other words, pretty much the same things that happen to a lot of Americans everyday, sometimes concurrently).

By contrast, victims of Infidelophobia dont have it quite so good. They have to worry about horrific acts of terrorism in places where Muslims have a significant minority (Kashmir, The Philippines, Lebanon, Nigeria) and flat-out subjugation in the areas under Islamic hegemony (Sudan, Iran, Indonesia and basically any other Muslim country). Even in the Land of the Free over the last three years, thousands of Americans have been killed in more than a dozen attacks for shopping, flying or simply showing up at work on time.

Victims of Infidelophobia have good reason to be afraid because unlike Islamophobia, which may usually be categorized as a natural apprehension based on empirical observation, Infidelophobia is nurtured by thousands of radical imams in hate-filled sermons across the globe, as well as thousands of Islamist schools teaching extreme bigotry. There are even millions of Infidelophobes across the world, quite apathetic or even supportive of the many violent fanatics busily applying a literal interpretation of the Quran by killing thousands of infidels each year.

So is Infidelophobia a bigger problem then Islamophobia and overlooked because of political correctness? And is suffered by countless people across the world and overlooked. Do Muslim and followers of Islam need medication to get over there mental condition "phobia". Or is it just to politically incorrect to hint at Islam or Muslim phobia's.

Is a phobia ok when its hiden behind a religion even if it causes violence and bloodshed that is not called for? Is a phobia considered allowable just because of religion? So how do you treat a phobia when it affects so many people or do you treat the phobia that it causes "Islamophobia" because there obviously easier to control because they are more rational then the people with the true problem "Infidelophobia"?

The only way to treat any of this effectively is to eliminate religion... Do that and you eliminate all of the evils that come along with them.

As a student at the British boarding school in Togo, Farouk1986 wrote that he was lonely because there were few other Muslims. "I'm active, I socialise with everybody around me, no conflicts, I laugh and joke but not excessively," he wrote in one posting seeking counseling from online peers. "I will describe myself as very ambitious and determined, especially in the deen. I strive to live my daily live [sic] according to the quran and sunnah to the best of my ability. I do almost everything, sports, TV, books . . . (of course trying not to cross the limits in the deen)." The deen is a religious way of life.

Heres Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab he had a fear of crossing limits of the deen. Why because he was afraid of becoming like the infidel. Because he suffered from infedlophobia. Why was he lonely because his phobia was to strong for him to manage his life, and why did he quit school and run away to Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula because they frobid all things western even there schools. So why would they forbid western schools and teachings because they fear they would lose control to infidels when eyes were opened to the knowledge of the world.

I don't have a way to do it, and I don't think that it can be done. I hope that at some point in the future the vast majority will be able to see past the delusions of fairy tales, but until then we are stuck with all the hate, and violence that religions bring.

In some quarters, anti-Semitism has become "jewphobia," which reduces hatred of Jews to an irrational impulse, a medical problem, rather than bigotry with a long public history. Passengers on a U.S. Airways flight who expressed apprehension over the behavior of Muslim clerics who ostentatiously recited prayers and shouted provocative slogans as they boarded the plane are accused of "fear and prejudice" by an Islamic advocacy group, which sued them for their caution. The very real and universal fears in the wake of September 11, when zealous Muslims crashed several airliners to punish "infidels," are brushed aside. Metaphorical phobias are an appeal to self-censorship and demand limits on free speech. An accusation of Islamophobia restricts legitimate debate over what can be criticized. It obscures distinctions between intelligent observation and irrational prejudice.
We've come a long way in dispelling the stigma of mental illness and the "snake pits" that early mental hospitals often became. Now we risk diagnosing as disease what ought to be legitimate discussions of lifestyle, worldview and secular and religious values. Psychology begets a speech police. Insensitivity becomes illness. Debates over morality become debates over "disease."
Phobia dictionaries include everything from the ridiculous to the subliminal. My favorite is arachibutyrophobia -- fear of peanut butter sticking to the roof of the mouth. But we should all be wary of laliophobia, the fear of speaking out. By diagnosing legitimate issues of public dissent and disagreement as phobic disorders, we all run the risk of suffering from that. And beware of peanut butter, even with jelly on a slice of Wonder bread.

So it is "a natural apprehension based on empirical observation", when your neighbours report you as suspicious because they see you are a practicising muslim?

Or when you have to keep your mouth absolutely shut when travelling by air, and not speak a single word, for fear that someone might think your language sounds "muslimy", and report you?

When you have to watch out of miscreant hoodlums who go find beating a "towel-head" or defacing their home or place of worship a good evening?

Or maybe attacks on muslims are somehow justified
. So what about when a sikh pizza delivery man or gas station owner is beaten up or killed because some ignoramus thought he was muslim?

Or Christian Arabs, simply because they "look muslim"?

When a gang of idiots beat up not you, but your (non-muslim) friend, for hanging out with a "Paki"?

I'm sorry, but there is more to islamophobia than getting funny looks for having a long beard.

While there certainly is a problem of certain groups attacking or harming people they consider "non-muslim", this doesn't nullify or reduce the importance of addressing other problems.

Are we having a competition? I wasn't aware of that.

So....are you wanting me to google "christian violence" and start listing the thousands of links I find? Because that is just boring.

Once again, how does violence against christians justify violence against muslims?

Because they fear they would lose control to infidels when eyes were opened to the knowledge of the world

Because they fear they WOULD LOSE CONTROL (of current and future generations) if Muslims' eyes were opened to the knowledge of the world

I fully agree that this is the case

But the children and grandchildren of Muslims drift away from Muslim teachings in any case, once they receive an education and mix with those of other (or NO) religions

After all, the only way Muslims are going to CON their younger generations into believing the ' 74 Virgins' nonsense, is if they can feed them constant hatred of the West and keep them totally IGNORANT

Any Muslim child who receives even a primary school education becomes embarrassed about the ignorance and beliefs of his/her non-educated parents

Well I agree that religion will always be around because people will always want their fairy tales, but please give me some examples of things in our history that have been worse than religion?

No tyrannical governments, no disease, no other thing on this planet has been a source for hatred, death, and corruption like religion.

Personally I find the word 'infidel' offensive no matter what I'd believe in. It's akin to the word heathen, cowan or any other negative label. I don't understand why as human beings we cannot select our own terms to label ourselves instead of having others judgementally do so.

I see where you're going, that if there's a fear of "left" then it stands to reason that there's a fear of "right" and declared so in previous attacks, but perhaps there's a more civilized way of doing it other than namecalling. A way to cool the fires rather than heating them up.

Let us consider the following deaths in this century caused by non-religious conflict where the leaders all claimed they did not believe in God.

61,911,000 Murdered: The Soviet Gulag State
35,236,000 Murdered: The Communist Chinese Ant Hill
20,946,000 Murdered: The Nazi Genocide State
10,214,000 Murdered: The Depraved Nationalist Regime
5,964,000 Murdered: Japan's Savage Military
2,035,000 Murdered: The Khmer Rouge Hell State
1,883,000 Murdered: Turkey's Genocidal Purges
1,670,000 Murdered: The Vietnamese War State
1,585,000 Murdered: Poland's Ethnic Cleansing
1,503,000 Murdered: The Pakistani Cutthroat State
1,072,000 Murdered: Tito's Slaughterhouse

Suspected Murders
1,663,000 Murdered? Orwellian North Korea
1,417,000 Murdered? Barbarous Mexico
1,066,000 Murdered? Feudal Russia

Stalin himself is responsible for about 43million deaths.

All of the leaders of these regimes claimed they did not believe in God. These were not religious wars, they were fueled by plain old power and hatred.

Joseph Stalin is one of those people. Stalin stands alone as the most inhumane man in the history of mankind. Stalin is also one of only two men - Mao Tse-tung is the other - whose accomplishments in the destruction of innocent human beings exceed those of Adolf Hitler. In Death by Government, Stalin is credited with presiding over the Soviet government’s slaughter of nearly 43,000,000 innocent able-bodied Russian children, women and men, as well as people who were crippled, aged and infirm. That is more than double the estimated 21,000,000 innocent people killed under the Nazi regime led by Adolf Hitler. It is also more than the 38,000,000 innocent people murdered by the Chinese government under Mao Tse-tung’s Communist leadership.

None of the 43 million innocent Russians murdered by the Soviet government under Stalin’s rule was a war combatant, and their deaths are solely attributable to the consequences of his domestic policies. Those tens of millions of people were murdered in many grotesque and almost unbelievably inhumane ways. Large numbers of people, e.g., died of starvation and/or dehydration after being herded into fenced pens where they were deprived of food and water. The starving people ate anything, including “horse manure ... because it often contained whole grains of wheat,” and “cannabilism was widely practiced.”

The immensity of Stalin’s crimes against humanity are put in some perspective by considering that an average of 1.78 million innocent Russians were murdered every year he controlled the Soviet government."

Your turn. How many people were killed by Christians?

Wow... That is a lot of dead people. That would surely rival those killed in the name of religion. By the way, I never limited it to Christians, but here goes..

Native American Holocaust - 100m

American Slave Trade - 15 to 20m

Thirty Years War - 7m

Genocide in Rwanda and Darfur - 1.2m

The An Shi Rebellion - 36m

I could keep going and going with death tolls accumulated under the rule of religious people. I guess for a more accurate depiction of what we are trying to get at we should compare the numbers killed "in the name of"
